After receiving her master’s degree in Alternative Dispute Resolution, Lois Tarter worked as a Mediator for the City Attorney’s office in Los Angeles.  She noticed how anger and hostility were major stumbling blocks in the completion of divorce settlements and how the healing process needed to take place before they could actually move on.  Lois was married for many years and ended up going through a divorce.  With the help of therapy, she successfully navigated the divorce process, came out the other side and is now happily remarried.  During her divorce, she learned many life lessons.  She feels that while the divorce process is certainly a difficult time in someone’s life, it can be a re-birth and an opportunity to find oneself again.  Lois is the author of The Divorce Ritual: Get Up, Get Out and Get On With Your Life as well as offers her unique insight on her blog Yourdivorceday.com.  She also writes articles about divorce for The Huffington Post, SheKnows and MORE Magazine.
