My background is quite diverse, and having lived and traveled in many parts of the world and experienced all that I have, I bring great compassion and passion to what I do.
My greatest joy, in my practice and in my life, is helping others find the strength and beauty and joy they possess. Though they may not have felt that joy or that strenght, or though they may not have felt beautiful on the inside, I am able to help them find it again and to realize that they have always had it. It is not only because of my training but also because I have experienced life's challenges and have found answers, that I am able to help others as effectively as I do. Hypnosis is one of the most effective tools for helping people navigate and recreate, so they may realize the life they want and deserve.
I am a writer, a speaker, and a clinical hypnotist, having been Licensed and Certified as a Hypnotist by the State of Indiana, which at the time had the most stringent requirements for that profession in the country. I am also a Reiki Master and EFT and NLP practitioner.
My community service includes membership in various Chambers of Commerce, membership in the Better Business Bureau, and more. I served many years on the Board of Directors of The Villages, a children and family services nonprofit, and was interim President of Joyful Living (see Favorite Charities). I currently serve on the Advisory Board of the Indiana Center for Intercultural Communication at IUPUI.
The Reason I Became A Helping Professional
When I was CEO of a leading packaging company, I had an "open-door" policy for all company personnel. My staff used to tell me how amazing it was to watch others, who may be angry or sad, walk in to my office, but they would always see them walking out with a smile on their face and their head held high. So, I decided to follow what was my passion and what gave me such joy. I love to help others navigate this journey, empowering them and helping them realize that they are fully worthy and have all they need inside of them, already, to have a joyous, fulfilling life.
Articles by Karl Zimmer III
This was the tweet by my client, who along with his wife, owns an award winning salon and hair-styling school. I had given a presentation at their school about success to help the students define and realize their goals. One of the many things I have learned over the years is that you may enter a situation with a particular direction, but you must always pay attention to your audience and be prepared to change course, appropriately.
We did cover the material intended, and we also touched on many issues that young women face every day. I was impressed with the dedication and commitment these women made to their success. And I was even more impressed, and even touched, by the courage they showed to face their fears, to listen to some hard truths, to take responsibility for themselves, and to make the turn to use new strategies and resources to create their best lives.
"As I was leaving after our meeting, a friend called to ask how it went. At first I said, "It was good," but that didn't really describe how I felt. I then told her, "Actually, it was great, more than great." Thank you for helping me feel more empowered, for giving me tools that I can use to make life easier, to deal with stress in a healthier way." C in Plainfield, IN
"Thank you, Karl, for leading me through a recent forgiveness session a few weeks ago. As someone who is a sincere devotee of visualization, I have found this guided session has empowered me and cleared my outlook toward the person I felt had grievously offended me. With your help, I came to recognize that the hurt feelings I was carrying inside were preventing me from moving on in my relationship with my perceived offender. I was angry.
After the session, I felt somehow that a load had been lifted and cleared because during our session I was able to safely speak my mind and address the specifics of my hurt without our "conversation" veering from the situation at hand. I heard the things I needed to hear in order to move on.
I waited to write to you because I really wanted to see if the effects were transitory or long lasting. In fact, I believe they may be permanent, but what's even better is that I can repeat the visualization process you taught me and can apply it to other relationships. Thank you for your kind, gentle, understanding insight and approach." S in Chicago
"Thank you, thank you, thank you. You have given me a new life, a feeling of well being, of control, and the knowledge that I deserve to be happy. I was angry, before, and through the hypnosis sessions and all that you taught me, I am now a new person, one I admire and am proud to be." L in Northern Indiana
