Listen Up, Guys: Women Have The Power In Speed Dating

dating: women have the power in speed dating
It's only a matter of minutes to snag a date, so make your first impression last.

One of the benefits of speed dating, especially if you're new to the dating scene, is that you don't have to experience face-to-face or phone-to-phone rejection. It's just computer rejection when your list matches (or doesn't) with theirs.  This is a good way to get your feet wet. For those who can't quite accept the online dating idea, speed dating is a bit of a compromise. It's not like a traditional "friend of a friend" date, but it's also not a totally virtual "are you an axe murderer?" experience.

Think about what you want to get out of the speed dating. Whether you're doing it for fun, an experiment, a good time, to meet interesting people, or to find Mr. or Ms. Right, it's not about the numbers. But it never hurts to put your best foot forward, armed with a few good tips and a great pair of shoes.

Despite recent evidence suggesting that a cluttered desk leads to a creative (not cluttered) mind, I'm determined to declutter. It's difficult to be creative when you can't find your ideas buried in piles of articles, legal pads and journals, or elsewhere on tiny scraps of paper and sticky notes. Not that you could tell by looking, but I prefer the ... Read more

7 Ways You Choose Unhappiness (Without Even Realizing It)

As I approached a birthday, one with a ginormous number, a wise coach posed the question: If not now, when? I was grumbling about how I hadn't been getting enough done when I really wanted to spend more time reading, watching movies and the World Cup; in other words, engaging in activities that would result in getting even less done. If not now, when?, she ... Read more
