Paint Your Life

Life is your blank canvas after divorce. Your life (as you knew it) is gone…poof!!!!…as if it

Imagine you are an artist with a blank canvas. You are staring into a huge white hole. Your inspiration is on vacation or at least it feels that way. What do you do? I once heard of an art teacher who said, “Just throw some paint on it so you have a beginning…any beginning will do!”

Life is your blank canvas after divorce. Your life (as you knew it) is gone…poof!!!!…as if it vanished between a magicians hands! You are starting over…chose what you want on your life canvas. Paint in a lot of black storm clouds or hang the biggest sun anyone has ever seen. The best part is that you get to choose. How cool is that?

Often, it is that first step into your new life that is the hardest to take. Not knowing where you are headed is a big part of the hesitation. What if you reframed the words ‘not knowing’ to be instead ‘curious anticipation’? How would that change the hesitation?

When we are in ‘curious anticipation’ our life is one of excitement and joy. No one truly knows what is next. We are lulled into a false sense of security most of the time. Change is part of life. How we respond to it is up to us. Make choices that fill your heart with joy! Paint your life with sunshine or at the very least rainbows after the storm.

Begin your new life today! Remember any beginning will do…just begin!
