About John Burton
Dr. John Burton holds a Doctorate in Human Development Counseling from Peabody College of Vanderbilt University. He also holds a master’s in Clinical Psychology from Alabama A&M and a bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of Alabama, Huntsville. Dr. Burton is licensed as both a Professional Counselor and Professional Counselor Supervisor. He is certified as a Clinical Hypnotherapist (NBCCH) and a Master Practitioner of Neuro-linguistic Programming and certified as a Reiki Master (Usui).
Since 1983, Dr. Burton has been working as a professional counselor. With over 30,000 hours of experience and many hundreds of hours of additional training, Dr. Burton is well versed in providing counseling for issues of depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress syndrome, and chronic pain as well as personal and spiritual growth.
