How To Live Happily Ever After With Your Prince

A letter to Kate Middleton (and other brides-to-be)
Congratulations, soon-to-be-Princess Kate. You are in the midst of an epic fairy tale romance with your Prince. There are just a few things that I think you should know, in order to ensure that you actually do live happily ever after.
- Know that you make your own “happily ever after.” It doesn’t just happen; it takes a lot of work, courage, honesty and communication. Sometimes it’s not easy, but it’s worth the price of creating your own future.
- Know that the Prince isn’t the only Hero in this story. Be strong enough to be the hero in your own life. Sometimes he’ll take the lead, but there will be times when he’ll need you to be the hero. Don’t expect him to fight all of your battles for you; choose yours wisely.
- Be the real Kate, not the story book version that everyone expects you to be. You made need to make an occasional unpopular decision, but stay true to yourself always. Then, stay true to each other above all else.
I wish you the very best in your new life as Princess Kate. I pray you will have the strength, courage, tenderness, commitment and love that your illustrious late mother-in-law showed. Her legacy lives in her son, your Prince. Together, you can create your own legacy. Love well and live well together.
