About Jacqueline Marshall
Although I see a few private clients, most of my counseling experience is in community mental health. There I provided individual, group, family, and couples counseling. Many of my clients had/have severe, persistent mental illness:
- clinical depression and bipolar disorder
- schizophrenia, schizoaffective
- anxiety, panic disorder, and OCD
- personality disorders
I worked for three years in a supervisory capacity and I'd hesitate going back to it. Too many meetings.
The state and local funding for the mental health center where I worked dried-up recently. I am now seeing private clients and doing freelance writing in psychology and personal development. I enjoy writing poetry and have been published (which I get a kick out of) and author a column for Washington Times Communities called Tango of Mind and Emotions.
My master's degree, in counseling psychology, was earned from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology, however my B.A. is in music and I taught piano privately for a while. Before going back to school for the master's, I worked as a graphic designer for 11 years.
I'm a softie for animals and have three cats. I practice mindfulness and yoga.
