We all secretly wish these couples would find a way to work it out.
We get so easily attached to celebrity couples that when they break up, it feels like the world is ending. It makes it even harder when they’ve been in a movie together, walked the red carpet hand-in-hand for years or even if they’re simply two of the cutest humans you've ever seen.
But sometimes, if you make a wish to the Hollywood gods, your favorite celeb couple gets back together and all is right in the world again. The recent rekindling of Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield, for instance, took all of us out of the dark, twisted, depressing turmoil we were experiencing during their so called “break.”
Although it isn’t confirmed, the lovebirds are most likely back where they left off. They've been seen looking all couple-y again after they allegedly parted ways temporarily because of distance, and we are all rejoicing. Sadly, this doesn’t happen to all of our favorite couples, but we can always have hope.
Here are 9 celeb couples we wish would start dating again:
1. Taylor Swift & Joe Jonas
The blonde country singer turned edgy popstar has definitely had her fair share of male suitors, but this one was the hardest breakup to deal with. Because they were both so young and innocent when they were together, the childhood-like romance that ended was a real tear-jerker. We wish they would work things out and probably break up again, just so we could get some great songs out of it.
2. Britney Spears & Justin Timberlake
It was only appropriate that two of the most popular musical artists of the early 2000s dated each other. From matching denim outfits to frosted tips, these lovebirds were always matching and sporting the newest trends together. In 'NSYNC’s famous words, it’s still tearin’ up our hearts that this breakup ever happened.
3. Miranda Kerr & Orlando Bloom
This supermodel and her super hunk husband caused some serious emotional trauma with their split in 2013. To make matters even worse, they even had an adorable baby boy together who makes our heart melt. Though it was a short-lived marriage, that doesn’t change the fact that we fell in love with their relationship.
4. Vanessa Hudgens & Zac Efron
After doing three High School Musical movies together, you would think this couple would last forever and a day, right? Wrong. The ultimate Disney dream couple, broken up by fan girls and the spotlight, is far beyond over, but we still love reminiscing about their puppy love from back in the day. As of right now, it looks like Vanessa has moved on, but we can’t say the same for Zac.
5. Rachel McAdams & Ryan Gosling
One of the most popular romantic movies in the history of chick flicks, "The Notebook," featured these two stars as the couple in love. Naturally that translated into an off-screen romance that gave all of us hope in true love. At one point Ryan even said their love story in real life was even better than the one in the movie, but we were fooled. Their breakup was tragic to say the least.
6. Miley Cyrus & Nick Jonas
I think all of us have a theory that if this cute Disney couple had stayed together, Miley wouldn’t throw her tongue every which way and hump a foam finger during her concerts. Niley really broke our hearts when they ended things, but they allegedly grew apart over time. Regardless, it was nice to hear that Nick will always have love for his childhood ex-girlfriend.
7. Kristen Stewart & Robert Pattinson
The Twilight series really screwed us all over with this one. Doomed from the start, we were all led to believe the real life Bella and Edward romance would last forever just as it did in the movies. The Earth went up in flames when we found out Kristen cheated on him, and following that, Robert had to speak about it in public. This relationship was such a mess, but we still wish it would live on to see another day.
8. Jennifer Aniston & Brad Pitt
Brangelina is hot and all, but this couple was the original benchmark for the talented, beautiful Hollywood couple. Rumors have been flying around regarding their split since Jen divorced Brad in 2005, but Jen claims nobody did anything wrong. All we know is Brad got a little too cozy with Angelina Jolie on the set of "Mr. and Mrs. Smith." We miss this golden couple more than anything, even if it’s been 10 years.
9. Amy Poehler & Will Arnett
We thought these two were meant to be, considering they are two of the funniest people in Hollywood. But there’s nothing funny about this breakup. After nine years of marriage, Amy and Will crushed our comedic dreams by ending their amazing relationship. Because they've made movies together and they have two kids, this split will never get any easier for us to handle.
