Gretchen Hydo, Professional Certified Life & Business Coach talks about being cracked over to shine
I was confronted this week by some really uncomfortable feelings. The kind that wrestles around inside of you struggling to both push you forward and hold you back. I found myself feeling irritable and out of sorts, but underneath that was fear and vulnerability. I talked to my coach about it, (yes, all good coaches have coaches) and we came to the conclusion that I am being cracked open. One more time.
“Be excited about it,” my coach said.
“I don’t feel like being cracked open,” I answered. “It’s too much work.”
“Your light can shine through it,” she said.
My light has shined through every crack that I have ever experienced in my life. Like growing pains, it hurts. Shining on purpose, with purpose takes courage. And this particular crack had a lot of my identity wrapped up in it. Yet, I knew it was time to move forward, and that action was required. So I took a small step and then another and another. And I was brave enough to let go of this thing that I have been holding on to for a very long time.
And it was scary. It meant a possible change to my finances. It meant a change in how I see myself. It meant making room for my life’s purpose. And that’s when the light came in. When I stopped putting time and effort into an old idea to make room for something new, I shined.
Our life’s purpose doesn’t just happen. We have to go after it. Like anything great, it takes work, time and dedication. There are missteps, learning curves, and bumps along the path. But the light that we get to bring when we give the world our contribution is a game changer. Not only for us but for others. When we stop living small and inside the lines of our comfort zones and start leaning into who we are and what we are here to do, we change the vibration of our lives that causes a ripple and changes the lives of others.
If you’re ready to be cracked open, I encourage you to join my Facebook Group, “Shine on Purpose” a community of individuals who support each other on their journey to live their very best lives so that they can shine their light on purpose, everywhere they go.
