Not all the men in our lives are lovers and spouses. Many women find it necessary to free themselves from unloving or abusive fathers. Dorothy, a professional singer, was the 40 year old daughter of a famous entertainer. With all her talent she was unable to believe in herself and only worked when her father got her a job or asked her to fill in when he was ill. At those times, her billing always said "daughter of...."
In Dorothy's effort to get rid of the yoke of her father's power, she traveled back in time to Dickensian England as a small girl, quite ragged and poor, walking alone down a narrow street. A smiling old man lured her from the street into a strange room. It was obvious that he was up to no good. One of the techniques I use during past life regressions is to "rewrite the script." Instead of allowing this "dirty old man" to assault her and possibly kill her, we deliberately changed the action. In the new version, the little girl confronted him and told him off. She was able to shame him into letting her go. Soon after this, Dorothy was offered a job singing in a prestigious Los Angeles nightclub where she was very successful on her own.
I once asked a famous pioneer in past life research whether he believed in reincarnation. He replied, "On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays I believe in it passionately; on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays I am thoroughly skeptical of the whole business; and on Sunday I try not to think about it at all!" After years of guiding people through a myriad of lifetimes I often feel the same way.
Whether it happened or not, a regression usually leads to insight and change. Are the men in our lives also the men who were in our past lives? Are we in a cosmic tango, dancing together through time and space? And is there any way to change partners? From my experience the answer is yes. ...And by the way, I did conquer my flying fear.
