About Lauren Matos

Lauren Matos specializes in addictions and individual mental health counseling and has several years of experience working with clients who were addicted or dependent on opioid medications, such as Oxycodone, Roxicodone, Percocet and Vicodin.  Ms. Matos is also among the trained EMDR therapists in the Tampa area.  She has successfully used EMDR to treat PTSD, depression, anxiety and other disorders commonly experienced along with addictions. 

 

In addition to working in the addictions field, Ms. Matos is a patient/family volunteer for Lifepath Hospice.  As a volunteer, she provides free in-home respite care, companionship and counseling to patients and families receiving end-of-life care.

Ms. Matos is currently registered with the State of Florida as a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern. She is a graduate of Argosy University with a Masters in Mental Health Counseling. She also has a Paralegal Certificate from Kaplan University as well as a Bachelors in Broadcasting from the University of Central Florida.  Ms. Matos' diverse career background gives her unique experience in helping people from all backgrounds, particularly those with involvement with the legal system.

 

Ms. Matos is a member of the American Counseling Association, the Association for Specialists in Group Work, the International Association for Addictions and Offender Counselors and the Suncoast Mental Health Counselor Association.
