Give Yourself A Rave Review

Give Yourself A Rave Review
A negative review on Yelp resulted in a defamation lawsuit. Go for a rave review when dating.

When you are in the stages of getting to know someone, it’s important to make sure that you are giving yourself rave reviews. This does not mean fabricating stories or exaggerating your successes. Instead, it means that you should work to present yourself in a good light.

Rather than discussing your past relationship, your unhappy job or your unfortunate family problems, focus on the highlights of your life. Use ice breaker topics to start off with to give an insight into your personality - what are your hobbies, what are your favorite movies, books or tv shows or what type of music do you prefer?  By keeping the conversation light and on the surface, it reduces any anxiety that may exist and plants the seed for future dates to get to know each other better.

Being too upfront when you first meet someone can have unintentional consequences. Your potential plus one may find this as a case of oversharing or someone with a great deal of issues or problems. Although you may be making conversation, many people do not realize that often we talk more about what is wrong than what is right.

You only have one chance to make a first impression. By showing your more favorable qualities and highlighting your features, it increases likability and chances for a five star review from your date. You will have piqued their interest and hopefully, a second date will quickly follow.

Unveil your past and any problems like peeling an onion, layer by layer. Take your time to share your history with someone. Even though everyone has a past, focus on your future. Live in the now and let the best version of you be who you are. Give yourself a rave review and others will, too.
