When I was 8 years old, my mother was diagnosed with renal cancer and our family was told she had 2 months to live. The idea of using all medical modalities available was introduced. To see her live for 30 more years opened up the world of medicine and miracles for me. I was hooked!
When I was 19, I suffered from a rare blood disorder and had a near death experience which led me to my mission of second chances and the notion that I was placed on this earth to help serve others.
As my career in the medical field continued to grow from a nurse to a nurse practitioner to a physician, I learned that there was more to the traditional training of conventional medicine. I became an Osteopathic Physician an then eventually an Integrative Medicine Doctor, which includes patient advocacy, prevention, diet, exercise and natural remedies to address the mind, body, and spirit. My patients’ wellbeing is my ultimate focus and this blended approach helps me to provide a balanced approach to safely guide patient care.
I have been a victim of past catastrophic events in my life. It has taken many years to learn to be resilient enough to surpass my fears and have the courage and the strength to share my story with others. I have learned to be authentic and truthful to allow my clients to see beyond the mask of my professional life.
For every human being no matter how old you are or what stage of life you’re in, if you can reclaim your power, and that would be your voice, then you can gain insight, strength, and courage to find your true purpose in life. I know that there is something inherently within my cellular structure that will not allow me to leave this earth until I’ve done what I’ve come to do.
My message revolves around two simple words – self acceptance and self-worth. It is really up to each of us to help one another to find our own individual resilience and to help reconnect to your true purpose in life.
