Most sexuality experts agree that cases in which a woman cannot have sexual arousal and climax are very rare. Dr. Vivienne Cass, in her book The Elusive Orgasm: A Woman's Guide to Why She Can't and How She Can Orgasm asserts that the only difference between a woman who can have a climax and one who can not is the level of arousal she reaches during sexual activity.
It’s not magic, it is about arousal. A woman may identify the signs of sexual body response such as lubrication, or a pleasant "feeling of fullness" with intercourse and yet not be able to climax. Women who feel "dead or numb down there" often avoid thinking about or having sex at all. Others think that they just don’t "have what it takes," or they must not be as sexual as other people and succumb to Orgasm Despair.
I assure you there are no "have" or "have-nots." It is about arousal and if you have a body, you are capable of arousal. It is well documented that even paraplegics and spinal cord injured woman can learn to become aroused and experience orgasm. So if you have a body, there is a way.
If you are doubtful about this, think of the process as taking a trip. For example, going from Los Angeles to New York. If you decided you wanted to go to New York, you know you could get there by train, car, bus, or plane. The more adventurous could even hitch hike and very likely be able to get there. Why would it be easy for you to believe you could get there?
• Others have done it
• You know that trains, cars, buses, and planes work
• You have taken other trips without a problem
• You know that you may have to ask for directions or figure out which exit or station to get to, but that you can learn how to get to New York
This is the same way to think about arousal and climax. You can find a way that works for you, and you can get there! Don't Despair.
