I am the developer of a community-based practice for wellness called Dancing Mindfulness. Mindfulness is the ancient practice of noticing without judgment, a practice that seems so simple, yet one that we often neglect in our fast-paced, modern lives. Whether it is used as a gateway to higher spiritual growth or as a path to more balanced, centered living, the applications of mindfulness are various…as are the ways to achieve it. Dancing Mindfulness uses the art form of dance as the primary medium of discovering mindful awareness. In the Dancing Mindfulness practice, participants are led through seven primary areas of mindfulness in motion: breath, sound, body, story, mind, spirit, and integrated experience. By dancing through these seven areas, participants will be able to tap into their body’s own healing resources and realize that we all have a unique creativity just waiting to be cultivated.

Although it is merely a sample, I hope that you get inspired in watching it to realize that you can find wellness simply by noticing what "is" and dancing the stories that you are holding in your body. This can be as simple as cuing up some music in your house and moving to your own natural rhythm.
