Dr. Adam Sheck writes about the myth of the "New Year Kiss" and creating a passionate 2011.
What are your thoughts about the New Year Kiss?
The common myth is that if you don't kiss someone at the stroke of midnight on New Year's Eve, you will be condemned to a year of loneliness. Yes, it's a superstition, yet if you look around at five minutes before midnight on New Year's Eve, I have no doubt that many singles will be looking desperately for someone to kiss.
I'm a big believer in the importance of the kiss (see my post, "It's All In The Kiss"), yet what does this New Year kiss mean? Yes, if you're with someone special, it's a wonderful feeling to be able to kiss your beloved as an expression of your intention for the New Year.
However, what if you have no beloved on December 31st? What does it mean to you? Is the kissing glass half-full or half-empty?
