If you read my email newsletters, one of the things you’ll hear me talk about a lot is how beautiful you are as a woman. But what is the real definition of beauty, and how does it affect you?
Most would say the saying, “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder” is a cliché, but it’s true. What one man thinks is beautiful, another man won’t. I might see a woman as the most beautiful creature on the planet, another man might not find her remotely attractive. The fact is every man and woman on the planet has people out there who find them beautiful. Everyone’s view of what is beautiful is different.
Go shopping at the weekend and you’ll see what I mean. Have a walk around Walmart. You’ll see women who look just like you. Most of them are married and there with their husbands. They’re walking around with a big trolley of shopping, with a man who thinks they’re beautiful. Go to Costco and it’s the same.
Dozens of couples walking around arm in arm. A man and woman who find each other beautiful. If you’re insecure or don’t feel attractive you should go round the stores at the weekend. It’s a great exercise. Look at all the women there with wedding rings on.
If you want to know what inspired me to write this blog, I received an email last week from a young woman. Here’s what she said…
You always talk about how beautiful women are, but I’m so not beautiful.
Nobody ever compliments me, nobody asks me out, and nobody ever finds me attractive. If I ever spoke to a man I’m sure he’d just laugh and think, “Why is this ugly freak talking to me?”
I never turn men’s heads when I’m out, and if you stood next to me you probably wouldn’t even notice I’m there. You’d just think I was a plain girl and ignore me. Plus I don’t even have a personality men would desire.
Guys always like loud, confident, attractive girls. They like slutty girls and they never look at girls like me. I’m too boring and plain. I don’t think I’ll ever have anyone fall in love with me. I’m the ugly friend, the ugly sister, and the ugly everything. Not all women have it as easy as you think you know.”
Life is about attitude. I’m sure there are thousands of men out there who would love to date you. But you’re not going to attract a man until you turn your energy on. You need to smile. You need to be kind to yourself. When you walk around saying how ugly you are it makes you seem unattractive. When you say you’re ugly you shut off emotionally. You turn off your energy and men won’t notice you.
If you want to meet a man and find love, you have to change the way you feel about yourself. Go to Costco or Walmart like I told you. Look at the women you see there. They all look just like you. Look at their hands. I bet most of them have rings on their finger. Someone thinks they’re beautiful.
These women managed to find true love because they opened their hearts. You need to calm down. You need to relax. And you need to change the story you tell yourself. You’re far more beautiful than you think.
