3 Ways To Stay Upbeat When The World Tries (Hard) To Bring You Down

happiness on a rainy day

Into every life a little rain must fall. Whether that's hard times at home or at work, or actual lousy weather ruining your day.

Do you feel frustrated and unhappy? Do you let the weather rule your mood? What can you do to feel better on moments like these?

Here are 3 simple tips that can shift your happiness and energy level, not only on a rainy day, but also in your daily life when things don't go the way you want.

1. Change your perception.

You can choose to change your perception and see the rain as a blessing for the beautiful greens. Rain is part of the process for sustaining life and growth. It is also good for our hair and there is nothing wrong with taking a good walk in the rain, with or without an umbrella to sniff up the best oxygen there is.

Do not let the rain keep you from moving and seeing what nature does best, with or without sunshine. To perceive the storm or crisis in your life differently, look at the positive side of what this situation brings you and go with the flow.

2. See the opportunity.

If nature needs these darker days to prepare for hot summer moments to come, why not take that opportunity to spend some time inside with a game of cards or treat yourself with a good old siesta. Live in the now and enjoy what is.

Try to change your energy by putting on some relaxing music, doing some breathing exercises, and meditation. Light a few candles and make it the best inside afternoon you have ever had. This might be just what you need to inspire you with an idea to move forward. Grab the opportunity instead of mourning about the obstacle.

3. Trust that this situation will pass.

If there is one thing we know for sure, it is that after rain comes sunshine, always. That is how it goes in nature and that is how it goes in life. Dark days do not last. No situation in life stays the same. Get calm, get still, go within. Plan what you can do tomorrow or the day after, when the rain stops and the sun beats the clouds.

Surely, you will appreciate that blue sky again, more than before the rain. Maybe that is why we need that down-feeling, to stop taking life's essentials for granted. Send out some gratitude and expect to see the sun again soon! I promise you, it is on its way!

Cheers, to the miracle of nature and the miracle of you!
