5) Michael J. Fox and Tracy Pollan—married 22 years
Like the previous couple, Michael and Tracy have persevered through incredible challenges. In addition to optimism, they use lessons they've learned from their own parents. As Tracy said in 2002, "For us it has been normal to stay together through difficulties. We grew up witnessing that firsthand." Michael agrees that staying together is the only possibility. He once told O, The Oprah Magazine that "When we married, we married—and that was it. We were in love then, as we are now, and we planned to stay married." Looks to us like that plan is working out very well.
6) Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell—together 27 years
Although they're not officially married, Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell have been in a committed relationship for longer than some Hollywood spouses. They got together in 1984 on the set of Swing Shift. Goldie remembers meeting him before then, saying, "I thought he was awful cute, but he was too young. So ... two husbands later, children later ... and (I'm auditioning) guys for Swing Shift ... and in walks Kurt Russell.” While the strength of their relationship is unique, the fact that they met at work makes them pretty much like everyone else. 7) Ron and Cheryl Howard—married 35 years
In June of 2006, Ron Howard told Vanity Fair that "Forty-eight consecutive years of steady employment in television and film, while preserving a rich family life" was his greatest achievement. He's also quoted as calling his wife his good luck charm. Ron and Cheryl were high school sweethearts who wed when they were 21. Ron got the happily ever after that the movies often promise. It must be even better in real life.
