National TV: Is It For You?
Many people who have a chance to go on National TV deal with the fear of what might happen.

You’re an expert in your field who is making ends meet. You also have limited resources and a limited budget. One day, you get a phone call or email from a national TV show asking if you want to do a live appearance on their show.

While your friends are happy for you as you get that unique chance to be on national TV show, you wonder if you have what it takes to be on a show that will be seen by millions around the country. You start to doubt yourself and fear takes over. What do you do?

More from YourTango: What People Don’t Know About Losing A Pet

Many people who have a chance to go on National TV deal with the fear of what might happen. Sometimes their stress and anxiety becomes so great, that some authors decide at the last minute not to go on the show. To prevent your fears from taking over, you need to ask yourself why do I want  to be on national TV. Is it because of the following reasons:  I want to make a lot of money, I want to be famous, I want to help other people, or is there another reason that might provide some motivation.

Instead of going on a national TV show because it is the thing to do, a person should look within themselves and find the motivating reasons of wanting to go on the show. Having a good reason and being motivated to go on national TV will help overcome your fears and anxieties that you will experience before your upcoming event.

Also do not try to predict what may or may not happen. Even if the thing that you are afraid of does happen, there are circumstances and factors that you can’t predict which can be used to your advantage. These factors can change everything. Remember that we may be ninety-nine percent correct in predicting the future, but all it takes is for that one percent to make a world of difference. Don’t assume what may or may not happen.
