You imagine the perfect day… You are wearing the most beautiful gown, you feel like a queen, this is the happiest day of your life (or at least one of them)…
What does your special day look like? For many women, the vision of the perfect day includes a smaller waistline; but with all of the stress of planning, arranging, scheduling, choices and taste testing, how are you ever going to lose that 10, 15 or 20 pounds?

We know that there are several factors to consider when it comes to weight loss. First and foremost, in order to lose body fat you must consume fewer calories than you burn off. The second, and contrasting factor, is that stress increases cortisol which increases body fat and makes it harder to lose weight. So while you can still lose those 10 pounds by consuming less calories and engaging in regular exercise, you may find it hard to get motivated and stay on track.
Having worked with hundreds of women for weight loss in my hypnotherapy practice; the number one challenge for them was a lack of self-discipline (including no motivation, lack of follow through, overeating and/or eating unhealthy foods). Believe it or not, if you do not believe that you can lose the weight you will ultimately sabotage your efforts. Have you ever tried a diet, bought a new weight loss program or invested in a gym member ship then never use it? Or start then give up within a couple of weeks. Have you ever lost a significant amount of weight only to gain it all back and more? This is caused by a lack of belief that you can/will effectively achieve your goal and a poor self-image. (Can you understand why it may be hard to stay motivated?) These pitfalls affect millions of people, resulting in a booming diet industry and an increasing obesity rate.
