You imagine the perfect day… You are wearing the most beautiful gown, you feel like a queen, this is the happiest day of your life (or at least one of them)…
What does your special day look like? For many women, the vision of the perfect day includes a smaller waistline; but with all of the stress of planning, arranging, scheduling, choices and taste testing, how are you ever going to lose that 10, 15 or 20 pounds?
We know that there are several factors to consider when it comes to weight loss. First and foremost, in order to lose body fat you must consume fewer calories than you burn off. The second, and contrasting factor, is that stress increases cortisol which increases body fat and makes it harder to lose weight. So while you can still lose those 10 pounds by consuming less calories and engaging in regular exercise, you may find it hard to get motivated and stay on track.
Having worked with hundreds of women for weight loss in my hypnotherapy practice; the number one challenge for them was a lack of self-discipline (including no motivation, lack of follow through, overeating and/or eating unhealthy foods). When it comes right down to it, if you cannot motivate yourself to get started, much less be consistent, you cannot achieve your goal. Luckily you can take steps to motivate yourself and it starts with your thinking.
How your mindset affects your ability to lose weight easily…
Your thought patterns and behaviors go hand in hand. In fact, experts in the fields of psychology and neuroscience now know that your mental conditioning impacts not only your mental and emotional states, but also your body. We also know that your self-image, which is predominately mental and emotional, determines your successes and failures – including your ability to lose weight and keep it off.
