The Marissa Mayer Debate: Why Don't We Ask the Same of Men?
We have a long way to go before women are treated with the same amount of respect as men.

When you look at the numbers, it becomes impossible to argue that women are fully valued in the professional world. Even in government, women make up a mere 17% of our representatives and senators, a woman has never been elected president or vice president, and there have only been four female Supreme Court justices. We have a long way to go before women are treated with the same amount of respect and significance as men. For now, however, we can celebrate women, like Marissa Mayer, who are putting up with preposterous complications like public debates over her maternity leave, and hope that women who follow after her will compete with men on an even playing ground.
