About Liz Wallenstein
My goal as a therapist is to help people to remove the obstacles that stand in the way of their accomplishing what they want for themselves and feeling the way they want to feel. I use insight, the therapeutic relationship, and support to facilitate growth. I treat each client as an individual, tailoring my interventions according to the nature of their problem, what I find works best with them, and their personal preference. I work collaboratively with clients, checking-in to see if the direction I am going is helpful to them and encouraging them to share their reactions and questions as part of the therapy. My clients often tell me that they like that I am not an “uh-huh” therapist… I don’t just listen and reflect back, I share the insights and observations that come up for me as we go along.
I offer a low-fee, in-person consultation session where potential clients can meet me, ask questions and hear from me how I would work with their problem. If I feel I am not the right match for their needs, I will tell them and try to refer them to someone who is.
I do not take insurance, but can provide the necessary documentation for out-of-network insurance reimbursement.
