About Laurie Hurley
Laurie Hurley is a social media consultant, mentor, and coach. Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan during the ‘60’s, Laurie now lives in Southern California. She retired from Corporate America in 1998 and began a twelve-year journey as an entrepreneur, launching three educational businesses. In 2010, Laurie discovered how her efforts on social media were drastically changing her business, resulting in more referrals and sales. Instead of enjoying the rewards of more profits, Laurie decided to reinvent herself and teach other small business owners, baby boomers, start ups, and entrepreneurs how to effectively and efficiently utilize social media and social networking to embrace all it has to offer, with one caveat – making it simple, streamlined, and easy to understand.
A self-proclaimed “non-geek”, Laurie has developed a system that allows the business owner to budget their time on social media so they can devote precious hours to working ON their business, rather than IN it.
Laurie manages complete social media marketing programs for several companies, has an active private coaching business and an affordable membership group called Social Networking Made Simple, for the budget-conscious person who knows just enough about social media to be dangerous.
An active networker, engaging speaker and, most of all a passionate teacher, Laurie enjoys working with individuals who are overwhelmed, frustrated, anxious, and sometimes baffled about where to begin their social media marketing efforts. She is practical, strategic, organized and uses her sense of humor to empower business owners to accept that social media is here to stay, one might as well jump on the bandwagon – minus the confusion!
Laurie is also the host of her popular internet radio show, The Social Networking NewsHour which airs every Wednesday at 2:00 PM, PST on the Woo Hoo Radio network.
