About Jephtha Tausig-Edwards

Hi there! I have been a licensed psychologist for over 20 years, working with children, teens, young adults and the elderly from all walks of life -- it's the most rewarding work I could ask for.

My patients come from many different ethnic and cultural backgrounds. My approach to successful counseling is one person, one family at a time. No two patients are the same, and that’s why I strongly believe in a customized, personal approach to treatment. I look at my work as a collaboration between me and my patients -- my goal is to be a true partner in helping them achieve the change they want to see in their lives.

I have my own practice in New York City and am always accessible to my patients, no matter the time or day. A little background about me -- I am the supervising psychologist for Family & Children’s Services of Nantucket. My clinical experience includes Columbia University’s Center for Psychoanalytic Training & Research, Richmond University Medical Center, Maimonides Medical Center, Gay Men’s Health Crisis and the Bellevue Hospital Center. I am also a visiting scholar at Teachers College - Columbia University and a clinical instructor at Mt. Sinai Medical Center.

I've been living in New York for quite awhile now, since earning my doctorate in clinical psychology from Columbia University. I also hold three masters from Columbia and NYU. I earned my undergraduate degree in fine arts from NYU.

I have presented at many scientific meetings and in clinical settings, as well as in the classroom. I also belong to many professional organizations, such as the New York Academy of Medicine, the China-American Psychoanalytic Alliance (CAPA), American Psychological Association (APA), and Association for Psychological Science (APS). Lastly, I love to volunteer in my spare time, and am a member of the New York City Junior League and the Women’s City Club of New York. My full Curriculum Vitae can be found on my website (www.drjeph.com).

Please feel free to shoot me a note @drjephtausig any time!
