A month ago a video went viral when a 12 year old girl recorded herself looking very sincere with a cute hat on her head asking if she was pretty. The little girl took the recording, posted it on YouTube and the rest is history. Every person interested in vulnerable, silly little girls modestly dressed with a cute voice responded. The responses were mixed and extreme. Some comments told her how ugly she was, some validated her concern, but reassured her, and a few scolded her for doing such an action.
Forgiveness is one of the most powerful things that we can do in order to release negativity in our own minds and bodies. In the words of Nelson Mandela, not forgiving is like drinking poison yourself, then expecting your enemy to die. Therefore, forgiveness is important first and foremost for YOU. I have therefore decided to share this forgiveness process with you all which I have adapted from many different ones I have seen over the years.
I was telling a friend about my blog recently, and while I was explaining why I’m so passionate about wanting to help women out there to avoid the heartbreak that I experienced during my single days, I had an epiphany. About all that heartbreak. I realized it’s actually a gift. You heard me right. A gift. Something to be cherished. Something to be happy about.
What do you usually do when you get stuck with someone and can't communicate? Do you: Try harder to get your point across, talking louder or faster? Get angry, shouting to intimidate the other person into hearing you and/or agreeing with you? Cry in frustration? Feel resigned, give in and just listen quietly to the other person?
People with Diabetes are twice as likely to develop problems with mobility as they age than people without Diabetes. Can everybody lower their risk of mobility problems with diet and exercise? A study reported in the New England Journal of Medicine and summarized by Medscape noted that a 1% decrease in weight will lower the risk of mobility problems by 7.4% and a 1% increase in fitness level will lower the risk of mobility problems by 1.4%. In order to maintain the benefit, people need to continue the lifestyle changes. Family support an encouragement is so important.
Work hard and smarter to get the toned, curvy butt, hips and thighs you deserve! Build muscle mass and burn fat by ramping up the intensity of your leg circuits and interval cardio. You don't have to get bulky to be a muscular woman. Its a fact that muscular women burn more fat and stay leaner throughout life (if they maintain exercise and nutrition). It doesn't matter how old you are.
Much like our dreams, our sexual fantasies are the windows to our souls. In many ways, we have been conditioned and trained to fear, or be ashamed our sexual fantasies, as maybe we are somewhat afraid, or ashamed about our own sexualities. We’re embarrassed of our desires. Due to lack of education, and lack of exposure in talking about sexual fantasies we keep them hidden, quiet, shut off from the world, and to ourselves.
There is so much pressure on people to be in committed long-term relationships or marriages. And there are countless numbers of books, songs, movies, and experts out there to show you the way. And while their intentions are good, they reinforce the message that if you’re single, you’re missing out—that somehow your life is not whole and complete until you find that special someone. So if you’re single and longing for that special relationship, listen up.
Relationships are awesome — let's just get that out of the way. Love is — well — lovely. All day long, we are surrounded by women who want to be in relationships, and for good reason. However, many of these same women are so caught up with worrying about their next date, or when they will finally meet the one that they forget how to enjoy the moment.
Here's a listener question I received. Dear Maryanne, One of my best friends has been unhealthily obsessed with the same guy for almost four years (we're now seniors in college). They have hooked up intermittently over this time but have never been on a date or spent any platonic time together. He has never displayed any actual interest in her or her feelings despite it being incredibly obvious that she is very attached. She refuses to show interest in any other person.
