In a recent study conducted by Harris Interactive for AnastasiaDate.com, a group of 1,000 men were polled on their thoughts on online dating. The men ranged in ages from 35-55. Over half of the men had tried online dating, and of those who tried, over 65 percent had actually met someone through the medium.
A recent survey conducted by online dating site OurTime.com found that 42 percent of adults would not date somebody outside of their race. Within that statistic, respondents age 55 and up tended to lean more toward those of their own race, at a whopping 54 percent, compared to those between 18 to 34 at only 33 percent.
Thanks to its rising popularity, and a whole new slew of demographics-specific websites to choose from, online dating has become less taboo in recent years. And though it's a more convenient way to find potential dates—who has time to actually go out and meet people, anyway? — there's still a lot to stress over when reaching out to establish connections with other users.
Although texting may be a primary form of communication with potential suitors, a new survey warns that being too involved in your phone—and not involved enough with your date—is a big taboo while out on the town.
