Last year, love for me was a series of spectacular hits that became grossly off-target misses. Every attempt I made at relationship was tossed into the crapper long before I even had a chance to lift the lid. Though it’s been swell to have an “active” romantic life, the yo-yo effect of gaining and losing love every couple of months began to take its toll. When the crush I’ve been nursing since this past February recently started to tank, it brought my mojo down with it. The first viable option I’d had in ages, this crush was the last straw. There was only one thing to do: play Stella and get my groove back.
I was looking on the net and I found an article about how to finally make your dreams come true. And as I read it and it gave me a step by step program on how to make it happen. I realized I lost my dreams and cant remember where they went and whats worse I don't care. Then came the tears and the realization of my lack of motivation. I am a 35 year old single women living with her parents working a dead end part-time job with absolutely NO motivation. So the reason I am writing is can anybody give me some or what you use for motivation because I have lost mine.
Do What You Love
When you are doing something that takes you into what Deepak Chopra calls “Timeless Awareness,” you will get supercharged and not think about time or money. It will bring you internal satisfaction that transcends the fleeting negative feelings that come with thinking about money or the lack-thereof.
Partner with a Non-Profit
Giving back has actually led to quantum leap in my success, because when you partner with a charitable cause, you now have an entire database and media presence behind you. It is like aligning yourself with the waves of the ocean, rather than just being a small trickling of water that comes out of your bathroom faucet.
Recession-Proof Marketing
Fifty-three percent of all married women describe their relationships with their mothers-in-law as obligatory, cordial but nothing more, reporting a mix of both anxiety and tension. I am the author of The Daughter-in-Law Rules: 101 Surefire Ways to Manage (and Make Friends with) Your Mother-in-Law! and my vision is to inspire more harmony among 20 million mothers and daughters-in-law around the world by teaching all brides to learn the art of making friends with their husband’s mother.
Here is a small parable to illustrate the philosophy behind the Daughter-in-Law Rules:
Story of a Daughter-in-law, Li Li
A long time ago in China, a girl named Li-Li got married and went to live with her husband and mother-in-law. Their personalities were very different, and Li-Li was angered by many of her constant criticisms.
As a mom, we try to do it all. For example, I teach, do workshops, co-host a weekly radio show, give online tele-classes, write books, blog, tweet, do a weekly newsletter, prepare corporate sponsorships, answer HARO ads, etc. I also am a jazz pianist and mother of two small children.
Here are some tips as to how to do it all:
Do not Procrastinate!
When you have five minutes to do something on your to do list, do it! I used to let things pile up but now I realize that five minutes is golden and you can accomplish a LOT if you just put your mind to it!
When the Kids Are in Bed, GO!
As soon as your kids’ heads hit the pillow, RUN to your computer and start getting things done! I do not waste even a second once my kids are in bed. I know that this is very, very precious time and I utilize it most effectively (as per the first tip)!
