Patrick Swayze married his childhood sweetheart, Lisa Niemi, on June 12, 1975. The two first met when 14-year-old Niemi took dance lessons from Patrick's mother. Patrick was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in late January 2008. He has said Lisa has been his biggest support through the ordeal. Patrick Swayze passed away on September 14, 2009 after battling pancreatic cancer for 20 months.
