At a young age, British pop singer Lily Allen has gone through some steep romantic ups and downs. In December 2007, she announced that she and her then boyfriend, Ed Simons of the Chemical Brothers, were expecting a child, after only dating for a few months. However, sadly, their relationship and family was not to be, as Lily suffered a miscarriage in January 2008 and the couple broke up shortly thereafter.

In the summer of 2009, Lily decided to take a break from dating musicians and started a romance with the owner of a construction company, Sam Cooper. A year later, in August 2010, Lily again announced that she was pregnant, but, in a sad repeat of history, she lost the baby at 6 months. Despite the tragedy, she and Sam's relationship remained strong, and, while on holiday in December 2010, they became engaged.

Reportedly, Sam waited until the sun set over the Indian ocean before proposing to Lily on their hotel balcony. They are expected to wed sometime in 2011.
