There are some truths to the age-old adage, "blondes have more fun." Studies have shown that the lighter-haired women of the world are often rated as more attracted, younger and healthier looking than brunettes. Blondes also tend to earn more money and marry richer.
As a curvier brunette with very dark brown hair—maybe even light black—I find that, when it comes to men, I lose to blondes…a lot. That might sound ridiculous to you, but I bet it makes perfect sense to the blonde girl that, er, distracted a guy I was having a fling with my senior year of college. But who's bitter? (I am. According to the paper, the study found that today's blondes are short-tempered ice queens, used to getting their way—and spoiling for a fight should anyone dare to question them. The paper called it the "princess" effect: Blondes, born with a sense of entitlement, and used to having others do their bidding, lose their tempers more easily than women of any other hair color.

Today on Shine a user posted an interesting problem. She has long blond hair that she loves and is proud of, however her boyfriend has told her he prefers brunettes. This stresses her out because she and her sweetie are getting serious and talking marriage, and she's concerned. "If I am going to spend the rest of my life with one man in the whole world, I want that one man to be the most attracted to the features that I have," she writes. When she brought it up with her man he said that her hair color isn't important, but she's still stuck on the issue: "Why spend my life with a guy who is more attracted to a feature that I don't have? It really makes me feel bad when I think about it."
