BEIJING (Reuters) - A corrupt senior Chinese official was denounced by his 11 mistresses after some of their husbands were sentenced to death for graft, state media said on Friday.
The news comes just days after a senior provincial Communist Party official was executed for blowing up his mistress with a car bomb.
"Second wives" are common among government officials and businessmen in China and are often blamed for driving men to seek money through bribes or other abuses of power.

LITTLE ROCK - Citing problems with the wording, state Attorney General Dustin McDaniel on Wednesday rejected a proposed ballot initiative to prohibit unmarried couples from adopting or becoming foster parents in Arkansas.
The director of the Arkansas Family Council, which drafted the proposed initiative, said the group will rewrite the measure and submit it again to McDaniel.
The Family Council drafted the proposed ballot item after unsuccessfully lobbying the state Legislature earlier this year to pass legislation barring gays or unmarried couples from adopting or foster parenting.
Obtaining certification of a ballot initiative's wording is the first step in placing the measure on the ballot.
"I was not able to certify the ballot title in its current form," McDaniel said Wednesday. "There were a couple of flaws in its drafting."

After much legal wrangling, a Los Angeles judge has granted singer/actress/dancer/entrepreneur Jennifer Lopez two big wishes, not only barring her first husband from publishing a naughty, revealing tell-all memoir of his time with the Bronx-born superstar, but also awarding J.Lo over half a million dollars for her trouble!
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael C. Solner approved a $545,000 arbitration award to the Gigli star in her legal action against first husband Ojani Noa. Adding insult to injury for Noa, who married J.Lo in Feb., 1997, only to split 11 months later, the judge also slapped an injunction on him, forbidding him from publishing negative, denigrating, or otherwise not-so-nice details about his ex-wife. This ruling effectively prohibits Noa from airing his dirty laundry for profit.

Pregnancy may open a window of vulnerability for developing binge eating disorder, especially for women from lower socio-economic situations, according to a study from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill researchers and colleagues in Norway.
In a long-term study of 100,000 pregnant Norwegian women, the researchers saw an unexpected increase in new incidences of binge eating disorder that began during pregnancy. The research is the largest population-based study of eating disorders during pregnancy.
Previously, small clinical studies had suggested that often eating disorders go into remission during pregnancy, just as some pregnant women spontaneously quit smoking cigarettes.

Nicole Kidman says she was engaged to a mystery man in between breaking up with Tom Cruise and marrying Keith Urban.
"I didn't really want a relationship," Kidman tells Vanity Fair. "I just wanted my kids to have me, and I didn't feel comfortable having someone in that small hubbub."

NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - Women who are particularly anxious about their pregnancy may be at increased risk of premature delivery, a new study suggests.
Researchers found that among 1,820 pregnant women, those with the greatest concerns about their pregnancy were nearly three times more likely than those with the least anxiety to deliver prematurely. The findings are published in the journal Psychosomatic Medicine.
Stress during pregnancy has been linked to a higher risk of complications in some studies, though not all. And those that have identified a link have not suggested any simple solutions to the problem.

In divorce papers filed Tuesday in a Miami court, Shaquille O'Neal claimed his marriage to wife Shaunie has been "irretrievably broken," and accuses her of being shady with his cash, reports the Miami Herald.
The couple has four kids together, and each has a child from a previous relationship. They tied the knot in a ridiculously lavish Beverly Hills ceremony in 2002. Shaq, who is currently in a contract with the Miami Heat worth a cool $100 mil, claims that his wife has been "secretive about her assets," and he has asked the court to order a full investigation into every penny she came into during their union.
