There are some truths to the age-old adage, "blondes have more fun." Studies have shown that the lighter-haired women of the world are often rated as more attracted, younger and healthier looking than brunettes. Blondes also tend to earn more money and marry richer.
A new study shows that wearing makeup can make women appear more attractive, competent, likeable and trustworthy. Although the results sound legit, we can't help but notice that the study was done by Procter & Gamble, who own CoverGirl, Max Factor, Lacoste Fragrances and more. You do the math! But check it out for yourself and let us know if you agree...
Looks. It's one of the most interesting and controversial topics related to relationships. You have those individuals who say looks are very important and you have those who say looks aren't important because "it's what is on the inside that matters." So, who is right? If I have to pick, I'm going to side with those who say that looks are important. But before you start calling me a chauvinistic pig who only cares about how hot a woman is, hear me out.

Women who demand respect often get exactly that. And why shouldn't they? We not only deserve it, we should expect it. But there's a tipping point when a woman's demands jump the shark from self-respecting to totally high maintenance, or, as I like to call it, highmay.
Who are the human barbie dolls? Creepy women, that's for sure. The Martha Stewart Weddings fall issue is here and we're a bit too excited. Fashion and eating disorders: How much responsibility does the industry have? 10 things Michael Kors says every woman should have in her closet. 13 extremely sleazy T-shirts.
When it comes to looks, women are typically more forgiving than men. I tend to believe that the first thing that attracts a man to a woman is her looks. On the other hand, a woman wants a man who comes off as intelligent, powerful, and strong. That does not necessarily equate to “good looking”. I remember dating a guy several years ago who was a very well known male model. On a scale of 1-10 this guy was an 11, for sure! He was tall, had a chiseled facial structure, strong arms.
Part of the reason Wendi Deng Murdoch's "slap heard round the world" made such an impact was that it seemed to suggest "I love my husband," rather than "I love my husband's money"—the latter being the assumption most people would make about any marriage with a 38-year age gap, especially when the older person is wealthy and powerful. In China, the reaction to that slap was no less surprised, but unlike in the West, this was not the first time the Chinese masses found reason to praise Wendi Deng's marriage to Murdoch and his business empire. The first came when she married Murdoch in the first place. It's good to be reminded that all the things we take for granted about how relationships should be approached, about what we should expect from men and love and marriage, about age differences and levels of attraction—as in the case of Wendi and Rupert Murdoch—are mere accidents of life and experience and culture. This is what I learned as a Westerner living and dating in Beijing, at least.
This is the second of three articles on the subject of standards of physical beauty. If you haven’t yet read Part One, you may want to do that before reading this. What advantages do you imagine a stunningly beautiful woman has because of her looks that you don't have? The picture implies that she can get a man, or at least land a job as a model posing with a man.
In life, I have always known my station. I am the funny and "cute" friend who makes people laugh. I'm the comedian, always good for a laugh and an outlandish outburst. But no matter how comfortable I felt with "the comedy bit," I was always left feeling like I didn't measure up. If you had asked me to list the pros and cons of myself, the negatives would always outweigh the positives. It was so much easier for me to go there. But that all changed when I fell in love with myself. First, let's look back.
For many people, there is a direct correlation between negative self image and their libido. It's hard to feel sexy with a slew of negative thoughts swirling around in your head. We asked our Experts to weigh in with simple yet effective ways readers can feel sexier right now. Using the principal of acting "as if" (aka fake it until you make it!), we think this can help even the most stubborn believer to connect with her more sexual self and reap some of the amazing benefits of a healthy sex life.
Very few things are as confusing as the link between what we think is beautiful, our self-image and our sexuality. What each of us perceives as beautiful or sexy is as varied as what you might eat for dinner. The biggest myth about finding love is that there is some perfect set of rules that leads to success. And this is just not true. No one is perfect. Pretty people and plain people alike struggle to find love and no one is immune to fears about ending up alone.
