*Exactly* Like The Ice Cream Parlor: DIY 2-Ingredient Magic Shell

DIY Magic Shell

Your childhood is calling!

Mmmmm, magic shell. That chocolatey crunch on top of a bowl of ice cream reminds me of being a kid, buying dipped cones at the local drive-in diner. The problem? That stuff in the bottle is full of crap you don't want in your body.

Not to worry! Newsflash: you don't need it anyway.

I'm going to show you a simple way to make your own Magic Shell. Pour it on top of your favorite ice cream (or better yet, make your own 1-ingredient Banana Ice Cream by blending frozen bananas in a Vitamix until smooth). You'll get that same fun crunch and fabulous flavor, with the added benefit of knowing you've cut the bad stuff out of your life. Just pure, good, homemade stuff with ingredients you can pronounce!

Make this just before serving yourself a bowl of ice cream. Drizzle it on top, and give it 1 minute to harden. Tastes even better than the original!

  • 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil

In a microwave, melt chocolate chips and coconut oil for 90-120 seconds, until melted. Stir until smooth, drizzle over ice cream. Enjoy!
