Why You Settle For Less In Relationships, According To Your Zodiac Sign

getty No one wants to settle for less, especially when it comes to relationships, and yet many people do. Sometimes it's just easier to settle rather than leave a sure thing and take the chance that you’ll never find somebody better.
For the zodiac signs who settle for less, they know it isn’t fair for them, nor is it for the person they're settling for. But luckily, astrology and horoscopes can provide insight into why they act this way.
Sometimes we don’t even know that we’re settling and we ignore the inner voice that says to us, “This isn’t right. You could be happier.” We think that by accepting our partner’s flaws, we’re loving them unconditionally, rather than being honest with ourselves that we don’t have the energy to get them to change.
When we settle in a relationship ,we believe things like, “No relationship is perfect” or “Every relationship has growing pains," and "You’re not always going to feel madly in love with your partner.”
All relationships take work, but when you’re in a relationship that excites, inspires, and captivates you, the work is worth it. When you’re bored out of your mind and scared of being alone, you settle for a partner who is just okay but doesn't help you grow, and your relationship will stagnate.
ARIES (March 21 - April 19)
An Aries will settle for less in a relationship because they think if they work at it hard enough, they can make it better. They're stubborn and it's difficult for them to give up on something or someone.
Aries can't even entertain the thought that they and their partner grew apart. They will find things they can do together that will bring them closer. But things don't always work out just because you want them to.
TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)
If Taurus is settling in a relationship, they will rationalize it and say things like, "Well, at least it's not an abusive relationship" or, "Sometimes couples get bored of one another, but that doesn't mean, the relationship should end."
Taurus spend so much time convincing themselves that they don't have it that bad, but they don't realize what they're missing out on."
GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)
A Gemini will settle in a relationship if they believe that their partner will change at some point. But you can't put a satisfying and healthy relationship on hold while you wait for your partner to go through some change, because they may not want to do.
If someone is going to grow, they need to do it for themselves, not because someone else is expecting them to. Geminis need to focus on their own growth and if that includes ending their relationship, then so be it.
CANCER (June 21 - July 22)
Cancers love being in relationships and having someone to love who loves them back. They like having a family and don't like being without a partner. But being afraid of going it alone really isn't a great reason for staying in a relationship that doesn't excite you or make you happy.
Although it may look to the outside world as if Cancer has it all, if they are just settling in their relationship, they don't.
LEO (July 23 - August 22)
Leos put a lot of stock in other people's opinions, so if their family or the community thinks they are in the perfect relationship, it's unlikely that Leo will do anything to destroy their illusions.
If Leo's parents strongly approve of their partner or if their friends encouraged them to start dating in the first place, then out of a fear of being judged, Leo will settle in the relationship.
VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)
If Virgo is settling for less in a relationship, they will assume it's because they're not doing enough, and they will set about trying to find a way to fix it. They will suggest couples therapy, or finding an activity that they can do together.
Virgo will work on trying to be the best for their partner and will give it everything they have, but if the relationship never gets any better, Virgo will continue to blame themselves.
LIBRA (September 23 - October 22)
A Libra will settle for less in a relationship if the relationship is relatively trouble-free. They don't want conflict or confrontation, and if that means their relationship is a little less passionate, that's okay with Libra.
They'd rather things be easy than have to constantly be doing work on it. If Libra and their partner don't have much in common or don't spend a lot of time together, Libra will find friends to supplement their needs.
SCORPIO (October 23 - November 21)
Once a Scorpio commits, they don't let go easily. If their relationship is less than stellar, that doesn't mean they will give up on it. Scorpios can be extremely possessive which means that once somebody is theirs, they're Scorpio's for eternity.
Scorpio will go back to square one of the relationship and try to win their partner all over again if they have to. If it's a connection that's lacking in the relationship, they will build it back up.
SAGITTARIUS (November 22 - December 21)
Sagittarians are very upbeat and optimistic, and if their partner tends to bring them down, they will stay in the relationship, believing that they can change the attitude of their partner if they just try.
Sometimes Sagittarius will settle in a relationship because it gives them a place that they can come home to but still allows them to go off on adventures of their own.
CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 19)
Capricorns thrive in serious relationships, and sometimes they try to turn a relationship that should just be a fling into something long-term. If that happens, Capricorn will feel as if they created the situation and they need to learn how to live with it.
Capricorns are hard-workers and problem-solvers, so they must have the skills to turn a mediocre relationship into one that's great.
AQUARIUS (January 20 - February 18)
An Aquarius may settle for less in a relationship if their partner isn't up to their level of intelligence. If their partner is a good parent, it makes Aquarius feel comfortable and taken care of.
And if they allow Aquarius their freedoms, they are okay with a relationship that doesn't inspire them. As long as Aquarius has enough autonomy, they're fine with a less than satisfying relationship.
PISCES (February 19 - March 20)
Pisces sometimes forget how incredible they are and will settle for less in a relationship because they simply don't think that they can do any better. Also, once a Pisces bonds with someone, it's very difficult for it to completely disappear.
This is why Pisces gives second chances to their exes even when the relationship didn't work the first time. Pisces remain hopeful that things will be better the second time around, even though they're usually even worse.
