Yes, he said THAT.

Blake Shelton, People Magazine's "Sexiest Man Alive" for 2017, has said and done some very questionable things over the years. You don’t have to be a fan of country music to know who Blake Shelton, 41, is — though his looks have been hotly debated on Twitter since earning the title.

Even Shelton himself was surprised by the honor, telling People Magazine his first thought was “that ya’ll must be running out of people.”

Shelton was, however, excited to brag about his achievement to Adam Levine, 2013’s 'Sexiest Man Alive' and fellow judge on The Voice. “I can’t wait to shove this up Adam’s a**!” Shelton said. “As proud as I am and honored that you guys asked me, that’s really the only thing I care about.”

But the 2017 'Sexiest Man Alive' has had his fair share of rumors and scandals over the course of his career as a country star and reality TV personality.

Shelton was formerly married to singer Miranda Lambert until a rough divorce took place in 2015. The Oklahoma native has been dating superstar Gwen Stefani for two years now, following cheating rumors during Shelton’s marriage with Lambert.

While the rumors about the 6-foot-5 country star’s relationships are probably the most widely known, he has more under his belt than the title of 'Sexiest Man Alive.'

Over the course of Shelton’s life in the spotlight, he’s been in the headlines for more than just his music and we’ve summed up the 12 most concerning things Shelton has ever said, done or Tweeted to show there's quite a bit that is 'unsexy' about Blake Shelton (including his racist, homophobic and misogynistic now-deleted tweets).

1. He called old country music fans “old farts” and “jack asses.”

In an interview with Great American Country for its Backstory series, Shelton said: “If I am 'Male Vocalist of the Year' that must mean that I’m one of those people now that gets to decide if it moves forward and if it moves on.”

The singer continued, “Country music has to evolve in order to survive. Nobody wants to listen to their grandpa’s music. And I don’t care how many of these old farts around Nashville going, ‘My God, that ain’t country!’ Well that’s because you don’t buy records anymore, jackass. The kids do, and they don’t want to buy the music you were buying.”

That was a bit rude and insulting to your fans, Mr. Shelton, don’t you think? Stars tend to fall out of touch with reality and forget that when they insult their listeners and those who support their genre of music, there are consequences.

On top of that, an article by Saving Country Music proved that his statement was incorrect. Awkward.

2. His homophobic tweets

Twitter seems to get famous people in trouble. Shelton is no exception, as the country singer has tweeted a handful of cracks towards gay people that are deeply concerning.

“Question for my gay followers…. Are skittles y’all’s favorite candy?” and “How can I be attracted to lesbians?... I’m not gay…” and “Grown men who wear Chuck Taylor’s may as well write on their fore head ‘Cucumbers turn me on!!!’” are some of the most homophobic things Shelton has said on the social media platform.

3. Let’s not forget about his racist tweets.

Back in 2011, Shelton got dinged for inappropriate comments on Twitter, yet again. This time, though, he took a racist approach to tweeting,

“Wish the d--khead in the next room would either shut up or learn some English so I would at least know what he’s planning to bomb!!” and, “Nothing says ‘Happy 4th of July’ like a airport shuttle bus driver that can’t speak a F--KING word of English!!! To the terminal Omar!!!”

Newsflash, being racist isn't sexy at all!

4. He tweeted fantasies about an underage Dakota Fanning.

Someone needs to take away this man’s Twitter account.

According to an article by Vanity Fair, one of Shelton’s deleted tweets from 2010 talked about a “sick fantasy” he had about then 16-year-old Dakota Fanning. It read: "So I just figured out a great excuse for my sick fantasy about Dakota Fanning. I thought she was Amanda Seyfried."

There’s no excuse here, buddy. When Shelton posted that, Dakota Fanning was underage. That’s more than a bit disturbing if you ask me.

5. When it was rumored he cheated on Miranda Lambert.

Even the 'Sexiest Man Alive' isn't sexy enough to cheat on Miranda! But she said he did, and their divorce in 2015 was not an easy one. They both played the “he said, she said” game during the ordeal and although Shelton denies having been unfaithful during the four years they were married, Lambert sticks to her story, according to TMZ.

Sources close to Lambert told TMZ that Shelton cheated on the barnyard beauty with a famous country singer. Talk about a messy divorce.

6. Shelton was a Trump supporter, but later denied it.

If you’re going to support a candidate, stick to your story. In Shelton’s case, he dove head-first into celebrity politics when he hinted he was on Trump’s side.

Shelton told Billboard: “A lot of people are pulling for him, no matter how much Hollywood fights it.”

He continued: “I see people who don’t like him go and beat up people that do like him. You tell me, who’s crazy here?... I probably wish there was another option, but there’s not.”

He later tried to backtrack and deny that he was rooting Trump by tweeting: “Hey before this gets going like it always does... I haven’t enforced ANYBODY for president. And I not going to. I don’t do that sh*t.”

7. He called women “b*tches” more than once.

Shelton veered over to the misogynistic side for this, again using Twitter to stir the pot.

One of the tweets reads, “Thanks Augusta!! Flying home to sleep with two young blonde and black haired b*tches.”

8. He leaked Adam Levine’s real phone number.

Celebrities are always getting bombarded for their digits by thousands of fans and followers. This one time in 2014 he released his co-star's cell phone number via Twitter.

He tweeted, “HEY EVERYONE!!! Here it is: (310) 493-7939 <-- @adamlevine's CELL NUMBER! Think I'm kidding? Try calling it!! Bitch!!”

The poor guy’s phone was probably going off non-stop because of Shelton, not to mention Levine had to get a new number after that, I’m sure.

9. When he was young, he was in beauty pageants.

According to Entertainment Online, Shelton performed in beauty pageants when he was a little boy. There were no pageants for boys, so he had to be entered into the girls’ pageants.

He wasn't in it for the beauty contest, though. He wanted to sing. The article says that in order for him to sing in the talent portion of the pageant, he had to go through the whole nine yards of a beauty pageant.

"There was a talent portion of the pageant," Shelton told Entertainment online. "In order for me to sing in the pageant like my mom wanted me to, I had to do the evening wear and all that crap."

10. He said inviting his girlfriend Gwen Stefani on stage with him was a bad idea.

Shelton brought Stefani out on stage with him during a set at Country Jam 2016 and later said it was a mistake.

They performed a duet together, “Go Ahead and Break My Heart,” before Stefani stole the crowd by singing a solo.

Later, in an interview on Chelsea Handler's Netflix series Chelsea, Shelton admits it was not a good idea to bring his girlfriend on stage with him.

"I'm doing my normal, you know, what I think is rockin'. Standing up there with my acoustic guitar in front of my stand and singing my songs," he said in the interview.  "I had my band work up one of her songs, 'Hella Good.' And I thought 'Man, that'd be so cool to have her come out and surprise.' It's the worst thing I could have done because all it did was make me look terrible."

11. He signed a prenup with ex-wife Miranda Lambert.

When they wed, Shelton and Lambert had a prenup written up in case their marriage went south. Although in the case of celebrity marriages a prenup can be useful in the event a divorce is filed, it is still just a divorce waiting to happen from the beginning.

12. He had a mullet in high school.

The country star would certainly not have been named 2017’s Sexiest Man Alive back in his mullet days.

Most of the things on this list are about what he said and did but the fact that he attempted to rock a mullet while he was in high school is something else and had to be included.
