11 Louis CK Clips That Are Super Uncomfortable To Watch In Light Of New Allegations
Buzz

Oh, Louis, Louis.

For years Louis C.K. has been one of comedy's biggest stars, selling out countless arenas with his stand-up and amassing millions and millions of views on YouTube clips. He has starred in and produced countless television shows and amassed an empire based on his takes on sex, dynamics between men and women, parenting, and yes, even masturbation.

In March of 2012, now defunct website Gawker ran a blind item about an unnamed male stand-up comedian allegedly known to "jerk off all the time, and then go on stage and talk about jerking off all the time, for money and laughs," adding the ominous twist, "But our nation's most hilarious stand-up comic and critically cherished sitcom auteur adds a thrilling twist to his onanistic escapades: He traps unsuspecting women in his hotel room and makes them stick around until he's done."

The column went on to claim that when one female comedian complained about the man's sexually aggressive behavior, "She promptly received a call from his extremely powerful manager explaining that, if she valued her career, she would drop it. She valued her career."

This past July we compiled the details behind several such reported incidences of sexual assault and/or harassment, which by then all appeared to have been linked to Louis CK.

And this week, The New York Times dropped a bombshell of article citing, well, all of the same allegations that have been circulating for at least the past five and a half years.

Apparently feeling emboldened on the feels of the uproar caused by outing of some of Hollywood's most powerful serial sexual abusers such as Bill Cosby, Harvey Weinstein, and Kevin Spacey, and empowered by the supportive nature of the MeToo Movement, 5 victims of alleged misconduct by CK have now come forward to confirm the what had previously only been rumors.

Included among the accusations:

  • Dana Min Goodman and Julia Wolov claim that while visiting his hotel room in 2002, "Louis C.K. asked if he could take out his penis. They thought it was a joke and laughed it off. 'And then he really did it.'"
  • Abby Schachner claims that in 2003, she called "to invite him to one of her shows, and during the phone conversation, she said, she could hear him masturbating as they spoke."
  • Rebecca Corry claims that "while she was appearing with Louis C.K. on a television pilot in 2005, he asked if he could masturbate in front of her. She declined." This event was confirmed by both Courtney Cox and David Arquette, who were that show's executive producers.

Though CK had yet to make a statement to the press, preferring to reject the stories as rumors not worthy of discussion, the New York premiere of his film, I Love You, Daddy, has been canceled, HBO made a public announcement that he will “'no longer be participating' in the benefit concert, 'Night of Too Many Stars: America Unites for Autism Programs,' and that it was 'removing Louis C.K.’s past projects from its On Demand services,'" and Netflix issued a public statement announcing that they will not move forward with a second comedy special they had planned with the comedian.

In a statement to the Hollywood Reporter, a spokesman for Netflix said, “The allegations made by several women in The New York Times about Louis C.K.’s behavior are disturbing. Louis’s unprofessional and inappropriate behavior with female colleagues has led us to decide not to produce a second stand-up special, as had been planned.”

FX, the cable network that is currently home to his Emmy-winning comedy series “Louie,” who at first only said that they are “very troubled" by these reports and were reviewing the matter, announced late Friday afternoon that they too would be cutting ties with Louis C.K.

"Today, FX Networks and FX Productions are ending our association with Louis C.K," read a statment from FX representative Jesse Hiestand to USA TODAY. "We are canceling the overall deal between FX Productions and his production company, Pig Newton. He will no longer serve as executive producer or receive compensation on any of the four shows we were producing with him: Better Things, Baskets, One Mississippi and The Cops."

Given all of the above, anyone who has previously enjoyed his raw, almost painfully crude brand of humor is likely to find themselves somewhat confused and, at times, disturbed upon revisiting his take on masturbation, consent, and what he refers to as "sexual perversion" in both his stand up shows and on his sitcom, "Louie."

Here are 11 Louis CK comedy clips and videos that offer a glimpse into Louis CK's complex take on sex, masturbation, self-awareness, and women.

1. On constant perverted sexual thoughts.

"I'm sick of like the constant just the constant perverted sexual thoughts. I'm so tired of those. Just the constant... It makes me into an idiot. I'm jacking on to morons... It's just a dumb part of life that I'm sick of. It's all day too... That's really a male problem. It's really a male problem not being able to control your constant sexual impulses. Women try to compete like, 'Well I'm a pervert, you don't know. I have really sick sexual thoughts.' No, you have NO idea. You have no idea. 'Cause you get to have those thoughts. I have to have them. You're a tourist and sexual perversion. I'm a prisoner there."

2. On the biggest threat to women — men.

"A woman saying yes to a date with a man is literally insane and ill-advised and the whole species' existence counts on them doing it and I don't know how they... How do women still go out with guys when you consider the fact that there is no greater threat to women than men? We're the number one threat to women. Globally and historically we're the number one cause of injury and mayhem to women. We're the worst thing that ever happens to them. That's true! You know what our number one threat is? Heart disease. That's the whole thing. That's it. Just our own heart going, 'Dude, I can't. You can't keep doing this. I told you three strokes ago that this is not smart.' But women still... 'Yeah, I'll go out with you alone at night...' What are you nuts?! 'I'll get in your car with you with my little shoulders. Hi! Where are we going?' 'To your death, statistically.' They still do it! If you're a guy try to imagine that you could only date a half bear-half lion. 'Oh, I hope this one's nice. I hope he doesn't do what he's going to do."'

3. On how difficult it is to masturbate as a married man.

"These days, my problem is very simple. It's trying to find a place in my house where I can masturbate without somebody bothering me, and that's really difficult. There's nowhere to go anymore. She's got her mother staying with us too in the guest room and I'm on the streets now. I got nowhere to go. Like, now I know when I see a guy on the West Side Highway jerking off in plain daylight, that's not some homeless guy. That's a married man right there. He's got nowhere to go."

4. Defending masturbation in an episode of "Louie."

Louis: "How can you tell people not to masturbate? I mean, nobody can NOT do it. Since there's been people, all of them, every single person ever has masturbated. Napoleon masturbated. Gandhi. Joan Jett. Shakespeare. It's like telling people not to breathe. It's really it's not fair... You know what really pisses me off about people like you? You think you can tell other people like you got the keys to how to be happy. Yeah, you don't know me, okay, and you don't know God, God probably hates people like you who try to tell other people what to do."

"Wow, masturbating is really important to you."

"Yeah, it is. It keeps me sane I'm a good citizen. I'm a good father. I recycle. And I masturbate. And I'm proud of it. And God's happy. And later I'm going to masturbate and I'm going to think about you and there's nothing you can do about it."

5. On masturbating on 9/11.

"You know, I jerk off way too much and it upsets me. I don't know why. Maybe it's because it's so selfish. I don't know what it is but I know it's bad. I know I'm hurting somebody somewhere. There's something wrong with me. Like, I was thinking the other day that you can figure out how bad a person you are by how soon after September 11th you masturbated, like how long you waited. And for me, it was between the two buildings going down. I had to do it. I had to, otherwise, they win, that's the way I was looking at it."

6. On the entire country being perverted.

"You know this country is pretty perverted. I mean we have to jack off to everything. There's nothing that just... There's not like, sex and then everything else. There's sex in everything. You watch the news and the woman's like telling you, "In Libya..." Like, yeah, we're talking about Libya. Say Libya again. Come on. F**k it. I'm right up at the screen, my flatscreen. Come on, say Libya again. Can this just be a person in Libya or whatever? Why does it have to all be so sexualized?... And there's like, teen pop idols who are children and they're on TV, like, going... mmm... it's a kid! And folks you're jacking off to them!

7. On having a better time masturbating to beautiful women than actually having sex with them.

"You know what the thing is? I don't give a shit about how I look. I'm bald. I'm fat. I don't give a f**k. I'm married. I've got two kids. My wife hates me. What? Am I gonna get laid if I lose a few pounds? Who f**king cares? Like I'm gonna get mad p***y if I suddenly look better. No! That sh*t is over for me forever. And I'm glad. I really am. I'm relieved. Now when I see a beautiful girl walking down the street I'm like, hey, f**k you, I don't give a shit. Go f**k somebody else, I'll jerk off to you later, and I'll probably have a better time."

8. On recess duty.

"One time I was at school and I was volunteering at recess. It's something that you do, you know if you're a good parent, about once a month or whatever it is you go to school and you just stand there. You watch recess. You masturbate. Whatever you want to do. That is now the worst thing, that's the worst thing, that is now the worst thing I have ever said. OK, alright. OK, we'll find it. I mean you could. It's a public school. Nobody would even give a sh*t, but I haven't thus far. It hasn't gotten that bad."

9. On raping Hitler.

"I wouldn't have killed Hitler I would have raped him, that's what I thought because I think that would have been enough. I think that would have stopped him from doing all that sh*t. If he had been raped by me he never would have pulled any of that stuff, man. 'Should we invade Poland now?' 'No, I'll just take a shower. I don't feel good'... I'm not condoning rape. Obviously, you should never rape anyone. Unless you have a reason. Like you want to f**k somebody and they won't let you, in which case, what other option do you have? How else are you supposed to have an orgasm in their body if you don't rape them?"

10. On mixed messages about consent.

"So after a while, she went home. Nothing happened. And then the next night I saw her at the club and she goes, 'Uh, hey, what happened last night?' I was like, 'What?' And she goes. 'How come we didn't have sex?' I was like, 'Because you didn't want to.' She's like, 'Yes, I did. I was really into it.' 'I was like why did you keep stopping me?' and she goes, 'Cause I wanted you to just go for it.' I was like, 'What does that mean?' She says, 'I'm kind of weird. I get turned on when a guy just gets frustrated and just holds me down and f**ks me. Like, that's a big turn-on for me.' I was like, 'Well, you should have told me. I would have happily done that for you.' And she says, 'No, it has to feel real and dangerous.' I'm like, 'What are you out of your f**king mind? You think I'm just going to rape you on the off chance that hopefully, you're into that sh*t?' Like I'm an idiot. 'Oh, I'm getting kind of a rapey vibe from this girl. I don't know. I suspect she might enjoy being raped. Maybe that's her thing. I don't want to ask first ruin it, so I'll just take a shot and rape her. What the hell. What's the worst that could happen, after all?'"

11. On self-awareness.

"You need to know that you're boring a little bit. It's important. Self-love is a good thing, but self-awareness is more important. You need to once in a while go, Oh, I'm kind of an a**hole. You have to have that thought once in a while or you're a psychopath. You know when you say to a friend of yours, "You're being an asshole," and they're like, "No, I'm not." Well, it's not up to you if you're an a**hole or not. That's up to everybody else. You don't get to say no to that. "You're an asshole." "No, I'm not." "Oh, sorry, I thought, OK. I'm glad I checked. I guess you're not." if somebody tells you you're an asshole you should go, "Oh. shit. Alright. What happened? How did I get here?"
