The zodiac signs ranked most to least likely to change over time.

Some people have strong personalities and it's not that they can't change, they simply won't. Astrology explains this stubborn personality characteristic as being a fixed sign. The four fixed zodiac signs are the bullish Taurus, the loud Leo, the stinging Scorpio, and water-bearing Aquarius.
Taurus is notorious for being-bullheaded, Leo for being loud in every way, and Scorpio for...being Scorpio. If you've ever met, dated, lived or worked with one of these zodiac signs, you already know. There's a stubborn streak that runs deep in through their veins. Not only do they not change for others, they won't change.
If you try to force them to do what they've decided can't happen, resent kicks in.
Of course, each zodiac sign and all the people under them have their handful of positive qualities but this isn’t one of those articles. I fully believe my fixed zodiac sign suits me, a fixed sign being one that needs to maintain their position in anything.
Like the time I broke my leg while it was healing after leg surgery because I refused to take it easy. Also, anytime I have to disappear and focus on my goals but it’s all worth it in the end. This means that all of us fixed zodiac signs are even willing to allow for a little change if it ultimately results in us maintaining our positions.
This is how being a fixed zodiac sign works in astrology and manifests itself when a person refuses to change.
The rest of the signs fall under a cardinal or mutable quality, meaning your sign is either always taking its next step or always changing itself. Like when my cardinal Aries brother decided to cut off all sweets and a bunch of food groups cold turkey, but I can’t even quit soda.
Meanwhile, my mutable Pisces father and youngest brother will go from happy to full-blown panic attack at the sight of a scratch. Lastly, my headstrong Taurus mother will always, for the rest of her days, give me her tough love advice.
I once admitted my stubbornness to a family member years ago. Her response was that everyone has a level of stubbornness. She could’ve easily been a fixed sign and, therefore, biased in her perspective.
Keeping with that idea, however, here is a list of zodiac signs most to least likely to change according to astrology:
LEO (July 23 - August 22)
Leo, everyone’s favorite furry beast because of their enviously long mane (in my opinion), is a zodiac sign of the fixed quality and fire element. So, it should come as no surprise to anyone that the king/queen of the jungle, (but actually the savannah), made the list of zodiac signs most unlikely to change.
Again, a fixed zodiac sign being one that rarely changes their position. On top of that, they’re fiery and fiery-tempered people aren’t ones to change easily, preferring to burn it all to the ground in pursuit of what they want. That’s why they’re called...fiery.
As our popular and entertaining kings and queens of the zodiac, Leos are natural leaders because they have dominant personalities and love to initiate often, especially if what they’re initiating is a social interaction. Always basking in the attention of their group, when problems arise, team members look to these leaders for their creative solutions.
Unfortunately, their well-known and appreciated leadership style also means they can make for some stubborn and arrogant people. This can lead to them becoming inflexible in their manner and too lazy to change their ways landing them on the number one spot on this list.
Tip: Leo may never change how much attention they need from others.
SCORPIO (October 23 - November 21)
Of course, my enigmatic sign made the list as the second most stubborn sign. We’re so notorious for our challenging qualities and domineering nature that we’re also notorious for just being the fixed zodiac sign itself. It makes sense that we would want to get our way in every area of our lives.
It’s easier to get your way with people when you’re known for your quick and venomous sting, among other weapons that I will keep secret because of my nature. We may not be fiery...or even lukewarm...like the kings and queens of the zodiac, but we’re people as persistent as our element.
Speaking of our element, Scorpios are of the water element. Science 101, if you’ve got a rock on the bottom of a river, eventually the water will erode the rock. That perfectly sums up what this zodiac sign does to people when Scorpio wants to get their way.
Yes, we’re passionate and assertive like Leos, but our assertiveness leads to a dedication that helps us seep or erode our way into opportunities. Not only that, but we specifically do not like passivity nor revealing secrets, both of which would allow an uncomfortable amount of change.
The one thing that Scorpio won’t budge on is how much privacy they need.
TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)
The thick-headed horned bull is an Earth sign, and just like them, their positions are firmly grounded. Taurus is also a fixed zodiac sign along with Leo and Scorpio, making them the last to make it onto the list of zodiac signs that are the most unlikely to change.
They may never change their headstrong approach in handling challenges.
Therefore, they have a certain amount of stubbornness that can become easily apparent. Add to that, they’re prone to possessiveness and uncompromising stances. They directly dislike sudden changes and the insecurity or complications that come along as a result of them.

CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 19)
Capricorn is an Earth sign just like Taurus. What the two signs don’t have in common is that Capricorn is a cardinal sign whereas Taurus is a fixed sign. As I said earlier, the cardinal signs are the initiators of the zodiac whereas fixed signs are the ones with the maintained positions.
To initiate their plans because cardinal signs are initiators, a huge amount of self-control is needed, and Capricorn has this quality in excess. They also are some of the most traditional people of the zodiac and, to keep the tradition alive, changes need to be limited or almost nonexistent.
They will never change their traditional mindset.
VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)
This sign directly follows Capricorn and it makes sense for multiple reasons. Reason number one being that its an earth sign just like Capricorn.
Virgo is careful and methodical in their approach to anything that concerns them. They’re detail-oriented and precise in their focus in order to meet their standards.
Someone who is as detailed-oriented and methodical as Virgo, will rarely change their ways. That is, if they know their way works. Their motto is, “why fix what’s not broken,”?
Virgo is highly critical because they will always hold on to perfectionist standards.
LIBRA (September 23 - October 22)
Once upon a time, Queen Scorpio looked at a zodiac mirror and asked it, “who’s the fairest zodiac sign of them all?,” The mirror said, “Libra”. You might know how the rest of this story goes.
But, what’s true about this story is that Libra, being the sign of scales, is concerned with balance and fairness. Therefore, Libra has to be the fairest sign by nature.
If Libra understands that their stance is unfair, they will shift it. However, being naturally concerned with fairness, Libra’s stance will be just from the beginning more often than not. You can always count on them to see their whole picture!
ARIES (March 21 - April 19)
This sign gets their spot right below Libra on account of their energy. They’re definitely incredibly stubborn and sometimes aggressive when they try to get what they want. I would know because I have an Aries brother.
However, they’re also known for their dynamic way of being. Their energy has them always thinking about the next goal and moving on to the next sport. This constant need to spend their energy and get rid of their boredom is what always has them welcoming change. This lands them right below the more placid Libra!
Aries will never change their active lifestyle because it suits their needs.
SAGITTARIUS (November 22 - December 21)
This sign is as sociable and friendly as Leo. It’s also as energetic as Aries. It has to constantly come up with new activities in order to use the energy they have in store. Sagittarius is as goal-oriented as Aries and will do anything to achieve them.
Their goal-oriented approach to life and the energy it requires is what’s landed them almost on the bottom of this list. They set a goal and put all their energy into it which allows them to be high-achievers. So, what happens when said goal is achieved? They set another one but their approach to it remains the same, methodical and grounded.
Sagittarius will always be on the more energetic and upbeat side of life.
CANCER (June 21 - July 22)
Cancer is known for their caring nature.They’re sentimental homebodies who love their mamas and their partners. Not only are they highly emotional people, but they also care about their partner’s emotions and want to do good by them.
This can sometimes lead to their emotions changing based off of how others feel. Cancer’s mood swings are about as infamous as Scorpio’s sting. Cancer will always love their moms and put other others’ needs on a pedestal.
GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)
Whereas Cancer is infamous for their mood swings and Scorpio is infamous for their sting, Gemini is infamous for “switching up” on people. Out of all the signs, Gemini is the one that can be considered two-faced.
Gemini is represented by twins and twins can be as different as day and night. This exxplains their split beliefs and behaiors that they are known for in life. So, they can’t really be blamed because it’s in their nature to “switch up”. They will always have a hidden side to their personality.
PISCES (February 19 - March 20)
Pisces is as emotional as Cancer and as split in their ways as Gemini. Pisces is sensitive and soft. They’re appropriately symbolized by two fish tied together but who swim in opposite directions.
It also makes sense that their element is water because, as swimming fish, they are literally...in their element.
Unfortunately, as emotional and split partners, this can cause instability in their lives. You’ll be the frustrated yang to their indecisive yin, or vice versa. They will always grapple with opposing desires, emotions, beliefs.
AQUARIUS
Aquarius surprisingly is as fixed as Leo, Scorpio, and Taurus. But, intellectual Aquarius is well-known for eccentricity and mentally being in a different world from the rest of us. To be eccentric, you have to be different from the rest, by definition.
To be different, you have to be progressive in your identity, lifestyle, and views. That’s why traditional and practical Capricorn, as a cardinal sign, took the spot of the fixed water-bearer.
They will always be the odd one in their friend group.
