These 4 Zodiac Signs Can't Take A Compliment To Save Their Life

Are you the type of person who is able to flirt flawlessly and knows exactly how to act when someone compliments you?

I can say without a doubt in my mind that I am NOT one of those people. I don’t know how to flirt to save my life and, frankly, I’m not always sure when someone is actually flirting with me or if we’re just having a conversation.

I’m more of a “be blunt about your feelings or not at all” kind of person, but even still, it’s nice to be able to have that sort of flirty banter with another person.

I have found that the people who are most able to take a compliment well are those who handle any conversation and are fairly confident in all situations.

I am neither of these people. If someone says, “Can I ask you something?” or anything to that effect, I immediately clam up and get anxious trying to predict what they are going to say.

So when someone decides to spring a compliment on me, I am not exactly the smoothest person to receive it. Picture: a lot of blushing and stuttering.

And I know I’m not alone with this nervous reaction to a compliment, but I also know that there are people on the opposite end of the spectrum.

The ones who can make something as unexpected as winking work in a casual, flirty conversation.

Have you ever seen someone in real life wink while flirting with another person without it seeming weird or out of place? I haven’t either, but I assume these flirting pros are probably really good at it, anyway.

There are a lot of ways to take a compliment.

But the ones I see most often (or do myself) are blushing and stuttering out a thank you. Some whip out a dazzling smile and give a compliment right back, or totally ignore someone because they don’t believe them.

And if you don’t know how to take a compliment to save your life, you’re probably most familiar with the first and the third options.

Not being able to take a compliment isn’t always bad. Some zodiac signs will always have a problem with receiving compliments, for one reason or another.

Some might get embarrassed, while others think you’re messing with them.

But according to their horoscopes, these signs are TERRIBLE at taking compliments, no matter how you word them.

And hey, if astrology is involved, then you know there’s some truth to it, right?

GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)

Gemini’s biggest problem with compliments is that she never knows how to respond to them.

Does she compliment the person back or is that too forward? Does she just say thanks? What if that isn’t enough?

All of these thoughts running through her mind only make it harder on herself to be flattered by the compliment itself.

This overthinking might make some people regret even complimenting her in the first place, but honestly, it can be funny to watch.

Catch her off guard with a compliment about her shoes and she’ll probably go into great detail about how it took her forever to decide on which shoes to wear today.

In addition to not being able to take a compliment, Gemini also has a hard time dishing out compliments, too. This constant internal monologue of hers can be incredibly overwhelming.

CANCER (June 21 - July 22)

Receiving a compliment can completely disarm Cancer, so she tries to avoid them as much as possible (if that’s even possible at all).

Having someone notice her like that can be really overwhelming, especially if she has a crush on the person complimenting her.

She might try to play it cool, but with Cancer, you can see every expression of hers clear as day on her face.

It’s not that Cancer doesn’t like compliments – because she does – but rather that compliments usually come with a lot of stuttering, blushing, and tongue-tied thank yous from Cancer.

She tends to be more comfortable with them when they come from friends and family, rather than complete strangers.

VIRGO (Aug 23 - Sep 22)

Virgo is very critical of herself, so when you compliment her and she doesn’t seem too happy about it.

It’s because she has about 5 different arguments for why her hair doesn’t look good today or why she isn’t really that smart.

Virgo has absolutely no problem building up her friends and family, but when it comes to seeing all the good within herself, too, it’s nearly impossible.

Of course, she doesn’t want to be rude either, so if you do compliment Virgo, she’ll probably give you a stubborn sounding “thank you” and walk away.

If there’s one thing Virgo needs to learn, it’s how to love herself more. She has enough love for everyone and herself, but there’s something about that overly-critical brain that stops her from seeing it.

CAPRICORN (Dec 20 - Jan 19)

Capricorn is probably worse than Virgo when it comes to compliments, if you can believe it.

The reason why Capricorn can’t take a compliment to save her life is because she doesn’t believe you.

You could tell her that she has some of the best style you’ve ever seen or that her homemade tiramisu is to die for, but she’ll always disagree with you.

It’s not that Capricorn is trying to be humble, but really that she doesn’t think you’re telling the truth — or that you’re messing with her.

It’s much worse when a stranger tries to compliment her because she feels like they’re only doing it to get her number or take her spot in the frozen yogurt line. It’s NEVER that serious, but try explaining that to Capricorn.
