Alarming Details About The Woman Who Was Raped By An Uber Driver And Told Him She Had HIV To Make Him Stop

Uber

After a night out of dinner and drinking last November, one London woman did the responsible thing and called an Uber to take her home.

When her driver, 42-year-old Suleiman Abdirizak, picked her up, he took her on the wrong route home. She was his only customer because she canceled the Uber pool request that lets passengers ride together for a cheaper rate.

During the trip — which should have only taken 20 minutes — the victim fell asleep.

When she woke up, Abdirizak had turned onto a dead-end road and began to fondle her thigh.

Prosecutor Sarah Morris said he had got into the back of the car and put his penis in her mouth.

"He said: 'I'll only drive you if you suck my d--k," Morris said in court.

"I remember the car stopped and by the time I woke up I could feel him touching the side of my leg," the victim told police in her interview. "I said 'what are you doing?' He said: 'You're a pretty girl, you must get that a lot."

She said by the time he had come back to the car, he had already had his penis out.

Though she told him to stay away from her, he continued to attack her — until she told him she was sick.

"I don't know how I thought of this idea to lie to him," the victim said. "I said 'I have an illness and you don't want to sleep with me.' He thought it was an STD or something, I told him I have HIV and have had it for five years."

She continued to try to scare him off by saying. "I touched your penis. I don't know what could happen."

The victim told police that Abdirizak immediately stopped the rape and started washing his mouth and penis with water from a bottle because he thought he was contaminated.

The victim told police her rapist was so freaked out that she had to comfort him that he wouldn't get the disease.

'I told him: 'I won't say anything, just drive me home. You won't get contaminated,'" she said. "He asked: 'Are you sure?' I said ''I'm sure just drive me home.''

She said even though she was scared, she told him that she'd walk him through it and not to worry about it. When she got home, she told her roommate and he called the police.

In court, Morris told the jury that the Uber ride that should have only taken 20 minutes, took 43. His phone shows he was on the street where the rape allegedly took place for nine minutes.

Abdirizak said the victim told him to pull over and stop the car because she was going to be sick.

He described her as annoying and drunk.

"He said she got into the front seat next to him, getting close to him, asking what perfume he was wearing," his lawyer said. "He said it was her idea that they should go somewhere more private to be sick."

The trial is ongoing, and Abdirizak continues to deny the rape.
