And just like that, another Hollywood legacy is in the oven.
According to Us Weekly, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's surrogate is three months pregnant.
The 36-year-old reality TV star and her 40-year-old rapper husband are expecting their third child, a brother or sister to North, 4, and Saint, 19 months. All three of these kids — as well as Bey and Jay's three kids — are going to rule the world in some capacity. Big families with lots of kids are in for these famous families
In June, the revealed that they hired a surrogate to help expand their family to a size that's getting close to the that of the Kardashian Clan. Kim would have loved to carry her third child herself, but was told by doctors she can't due to her suffering from placenta accreta during both of her pregnancies. It's a rare condition that she's spoken publicly about.
“My doctor had to stick his entire arm in me and detach the placenta with his hand, scraping it away from my uterus with his fingernails,” she previously wrote on her website of welcoming North in 2013. “My mom was crying; she had never seen anything like this before. My delivery was fairly easy, but then going through that — it was the most painful experience of my life!”
After having two doctors tell her getting pregnant would be unsafe, she chose to use a surrogate to expand her family. Kim's talked about wanting a big family on her show, "Keeping Up With The Kardashian."
“I’d just love nothing more than to expand my family and just know that I have this world at home that’s safe,” she said. “And if for some reason I left this earth sooner than I really wanted to, then my kids would have a support system at home so that I know that they would be okay if I wasn’t here.”
It's possible that the robbery made her want to speed up the baby making process.
Kim was robbed at gunpoint by masked men in an apartment in Paris. Though she's back in the spotlight now, she took a break from social media and it's easy to see how the incident could put things in perspective.
We're glad she's back to her old self now because we can't wait for more cute new baby pics. Here are X things we know about the power couple's newest baby -- or babies:
1. The mysterious surrogate has to have a "restricted amount of sex."
Obviously, carrying Kimye's baby is going to come with some serious perks.
We don't know her name, but she's reportedly in her late 20s and was referred to Kim and Kanye by an agency. She has her own security team and will get the best care physically possible.
BUT, there are some rules she'd had to adhere to. The normal no drugs and no drinking are of course in play, but she's apparently not allowed to have a lot of sex during the final stages of her pregnancy. TMZ reported that she agreed to restrict sexual activities in the weeks leading up to the pregnancy and not have any sex for 3 weeks following embryo implantation. She also isn't allowed to go into hot tubs or saunas, can't handle cat litter, apply hair dye, drink more than one caffeinated beverage per day or eat raw fish.
2. The surrogate is getting paid $45K.
This surrogate will leave this gig with a pretty hefty paycheck. Kim and Kanye are footing a $45,000 bill for their baby in 10, $4,500 monthly installments.
And, if she ends up having multiple babies, she'll get a bonus if $5,000 for each additional kid. If the surrogate loses any reproductive organ, she gets $4,000.
The couple was also required to deposit $68,850 with the agency. So this is a pretty expensive kid already.
3. Kanye might not be a fan of using a surrogate.
Though there's kind of no going back now, Kanye was previously reported as being a little hesitant about the whole surrogate process.
“It is a real challenge for Kanye to trust anyone, so the situation is causing major tension between Kim and Kanye," a source told Hollywood Life. "But he’s being supportive despite his major fears about using a surrogate for their next baby."
Kanye has always been a private person, and it makes sense that he's not a fan of having a stranger carry his child. But he loves Kim, and would do anything to make her happy, so it looks like he's opened his mind.
4. People already think it's twins.
Though we've all joked about Kim and Kanye rushing to have triplets to compete with Beyonce and Jay Z's set of twins, we never thought it would actually happen. But some reports back in June say that it is happening. Their surrogate could be pregnant with twins.
The currents reports say she is about three-months pregnant, which is right around the time you find out if twins are in the mix. So it is possible for this to be true.
Hollywood Life reported the announcement and said a source close to the couple confirmed it.
“Kim has always wanted twins, and due to health issues has needed the help of a surrogate to make her dreams a reality. It is very early on in the pregnancy so it will be a while before they make anything public."
