What to expect after you're expecting.

You don’t have to be pregnant to wonder what type of mom you'll be, it’s something that we may think about throughout the early parts of our lives. When you were little you might have had a baby doll to play with and imagined was your actual child, but when you got too old for dolls you might have thought more about finding the right person and getting married.
Once you got older and your inner clock started ticking louder and louder, you probably gave a lot more thought to whether you wanted to have children and what kind of mother you’d be.
If you had a great role model in your own mother, you probably wanted to be like her, maybe even better than her. But if you weren’t lucky enough to have a fantastic mother, you most likely wanted to do things differently than she did.
There are all kinds of mothers out there — some are blood but others are by heart. You might have had a woman in your life — a relative, friend, or even a babysitter who nurtured and took care of you — and that’s the woman you most want to emulate.
Some people have a mothering instinct and they care for others in a loving way, whether they’re related to them or not. However, there are some women who may not feel that strong motherly emotion until they’ve delivered their child. You never know when you’ll start to really feel like a mother.
Sometimes we worry that we won’t be a good parent, that we’re too irresponsible or immature, and other times we’re cocky — we’ve read all the books, we know it all. However, motherhood is a life-long learning process and just when we think we’ve got it down, someone serves us a curve ball and we need to improvise.
Here’s the type of mom you'll be, based on your zodiac sign.
ARIES (March 21 - April 19): You'll be an active mom.

The last thing you'd ever be is a hands-off kind of mom — you'll be right in the trenches of motherhood. Whether it's 3 AM feedings or car-pool duty for 6, you've got it covered. You'll encourage your child to try new things and will want to foster in them feelings of confidence, strength, and fearlessness.
You'll want your child to be active both physically and mentally and you'll ensure this by being supportive when they show interests in music, art, sports, and reading. You want your child to be as well-rounded as you and you'll spend as much time as you can with them.

TAURUS (April 20 - May 20): You'll be a strict but loving mom.

You believe that a child needs rules and routine so you'll be sure that your child has that and that they feel safe and secure. You'll be strict but will still be able to loosen up and have fun with your child. You'll make sure that the eat healthy with the occasional treat, that they get plenty of exercise, and that they're not too dependent on their computers, tablets, phones, and any other kind of electronic device.
You'll give your child a sense of stability and will instill in them the importance of being a hard worker and using their head when it comes to decision-making. You won't compromise with your child — your way will be the only way.

GEMINI (May 21 - June 20): You'll be the cool mom.

You don't talk down to your child but they understand you perfectly. You'll do everything you can to encourage them to get out of their comfort zone and to stretch themselves. You'll be a big proponent of them "using their words" and will try to get them to communicate their feelings in other ways than having temper tantrums.
When your kids have parties, they want you to be around because you're so cool. You won't shy away from the "awkward and/or embarrassing topics" because you'll want your children to be able to make well thought out choices. You'll encourage them to be independent while at the same time, they'll know that you're always there for them.

CANCER (June 21 - July 22): You'll be an oversharing mom.

You'll want to capture every single moment of your child's life with pictures, videos, and anything else. You'll share it to with captions like, "Don't blink" or "They grow up so fast." You're so loving that it's difficult for you to discipline your child, but when you feel that it's necessary, you'll do it.
You're obsessed with your kids and will do anything for them and that will never change. If when they're 40 and they need a kidney, you'll gladly give them yours. It's not that you don't have a life of your own, it's just that being a mother really does complete you.

LEO (July 23 - August 22): You'll be the drama mom.

You have a fabulous life but you make sure you always have time for your child. You're very proud of them and their accomplishments and you make sure that the things you've achieved never make your child feel less than or self-doubting. However, you can't hide how spectacular you are; all you can do is help your child feel the kind of confidence that you have.
You'll tend to enroll them in things that you think will help them in life that they may not be interested in, like cotillion or Sunday school. But if they show any interest at all in being in student government or being popular, you'll support them 100 percent. You will tend to make almost anything a bigger production than it will probably be, but you can't help it!
VIRGO (August 23 - September 22): You'll be the involved mom.

There won't be a playgroup, class, or PTA committee that you won't be a part of. You'll volunteer, help out, and organize everything that you can to help your child get ahead. You'll read up on all the parenting books, talk to your friends and family with kids, and do everything that when the baby arrives, you'll be ready but you'll still feel unprepared.
Besides being involved in all aspects of your child's life, you'll be their number one fan and supporter. Your child will thrive at most things that they pursue because they'll know for sure that you're there supporting them and when they occasionally fail, you'll encourage them to not give up and to try as long as they want and need to.

LIBRA (September 23 - October 22): You'll be a relaxed mom.

You don't want to put too much pressure on your kids and make them stressed out and unhappy, so you'll have somewhat of a hands-off approach to parenting. Your house won't be spotless and your children will feel comfortable enough to bring their friends over and hang out. You'll encourage your children to express themselves in any way that they want and you'll probably be somewhat loose on things like clothing choices, tattoos, and body art.
When they're teenagers, it won't be unlikely that your kids and their friends will hang out at your house. You really do what to be your kid's friend as well as their parent.

SCORPIO (October 23 - November 21): You'll be the dynamic mom.

You're complex and you're never the same — one minute you're controlling your child, and the next, you're giving them free range to make mistakes and fail, all to help them learn and grow. You're fiercely protective and can get a bit paranoid when you don't know exactly where your child is or what they're doing. You don't just drop them off at a playdate, you're there for the duration. Sometimes your kids cling to you but depending on your mood, they can be a little scared of you and your anger.

SAGITTARIUS (November 22 - December 21): You'll be the open road mom.

You're going to instill a love for adventure and travel in your child at a very early age. You'll think nothing of putting your baby in a sling and taking them camping, hiking, or on a trip to Ireland. You want them to not be afraid of new places and things and to have a thirst for travel. You want them to be fascinated by the world and to have the kind of education that you can't get stuck in a classroom all the time.
You may not have a completely traditional way of raising your child but you'll try to get them to see the fun and joy in life. They may have difficulty seeing you as a true authority figure, mostly because you may have trouble seeing yourself in that way, but the bond between you will be solid.

CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 19): You'll be the advocate mom.

Your child will have no problem knowing how much you love them for you'll show it in the passionate way that you fight for them. No one had better deny your child any opportunity or punish them for a misdeed that they didn't commit because you'll defend them vehemently. You'll want to make sure that your children know the importance of having values, behaving well, and being thoughtful of others.
You'll make sure that they have structure in their life and that they know they can go to you for anything. Life lessons? You've got this. Not worrying about your child constantly? That'll need some work.

AQUARIUS (January 20 - February 18): You'll be a productive mom.

You hope that it's true that you can have all because you're going to use every ounce of energy that you have parenting, succeeding at your job, being a good partner, and still having time to do the things you enjoy. You'll be an excellent example for your child and everyone else's, too. You'll most likely give talks to your child's class about your job and you'll take your child to work so they can understand exactly what it is that mommy does.
No can multi-task the way that you, but what's most surprising is how you're able to do everything and no one feels neglected or that you didn't give it your all. You're amazing and your child will be, too.

PISCES (February 19 - March 20): You'll be the free-spirited mom.

The most important thing to you is that your child develops into an independent, creative, and kind individual. So, you'll encourage them in the arts, whether it's finger-painting or doing their own picture books. You probably won't be overly strict or hold your child up to impossibly high standards; you will accept them for who they are and you'll celebrate them.
You won't want them to grow up too fast and will discourage them from being little adults — play is of the utmost importance to you and you will often play games with your child. You're very kind and caring to everybody and you hope that your child will learn how to treat others with that same kindness and respect.
