Sometimes you're just plain scary.
How dark is your dark side? Our personalities are a combination of light and dark. Some people may be mostly light, while others prefer the darkness of their souls.
The dark side doesn’t have to be exclusively pessimistic; in fact, you can be a very positive and upbeat person who simply has a fascination with the creepier side of life. You may have certain attributes that are generally thought of as negative.
As interesting as life is, there’s equally as many interesting things about death and destruction.
Sometimes we can’t help but look at the accident off the highway or watch a gruesome movie. For some people, acknowledging the dark side helps them to enjoy the sweeter and more positive of life. If your sense of humor tends to go dark, that doesn’t mean you’re creepy or morbid — it just means that’s the kind of humor that appeals to you.
Look at Goth kids: they fully embrace their dark side, but that doesn’t mean that they’re necessarily misfits or loners. For many of them, it’s an expression of who they are at this time. Besides, is there anything more fun than adopting a look that you know is going to piss off your parents?
Now, if you purposely do mean things because it gives you a thrill or you have no conscious about being hurtful, then you might be a psychopath and that’s not good. Having no regard for other people, breaking laws, and hurting animals are not just having a dark side, it’s being 100 percent evil.
None of us are all good and it’s helpful to know which the kind of not-so-pleasant characteristics we may have. The more knowledgeable you are about the less-than-stellar qualities you possess, the better you can either accept them or change them.
This is how you express your dark side, based on your zodiac sign.
You like to come up with death scenarios in your head. When you're on the subway, you think about what might happen if something went wrong and it went out of control. It's not that you're fixated on death, it's more that you like to come up with escape plans and what you'd do to survive. You never want to be unprepared and caught unaware.
You can get stubborn to the point where you won't give, even if giving in is in your best interest. You want to be right so badly that you'll dig your heels in until it's painful. Your bullheadedness takes you to a very dark place in your soul and by being intractable, you've damaged relationships, lost loved ones, and have even compromised your health.
You are a brilliant liar; in fact, you're so good at telling lies that you start to believe them yourself. Sometimes you tell lies just for the fun of it or to see the kind of reaction you get, while other times you tell outrageous lies to see if you'll get away with it — surprisingly, you usually do.
When you get possessive, it's as if a whole other side to your personality comes out. You seem to forget everything to hang on to the person you want to hold on to and it even changes your personality. You're so focused on "yours" that you forget everything and everyone else. You're controlling, suffocating, and unbelievably needy.
You enjoy picturing your own funeral and you already have everything planned out. You hope that wherever it's held will be able to hold the hundreds of people who are going to want to attend. Should you limit the eulogies or not? There will probably be a huge fight over your grave with at least two of your former boyfriends, and everyone will be sobbing and saying such nice things about you that you wish you could be there.
Most people, when looking at you, would be shocked to know what you're fantasizing about. You've got a sexual curiosity that goes right into fetish-land. Sometimes the thing that gets you hot while you're thinking about them surprises you. Sure, your imagination can get a little kinky, but the question is how much of those fantasies do you put into practice?
You eat up stories about murder, especially if they involve serial killers. You enjoy serial killer books, television shows, and movies. If people could see your Netflix history or the videos you watch on YouTube, they might think that you're seriously disturbed. It's not that you enjoy blood and guts, it's the minds of killers that you find so fascinating.
You've got the stalker gene. If you're obsessing over someone, you regularly visit their Facebook and Instagram pages. If your crush, current boo, or ex is pictured with someone you don't know, you go through their page as well. You use the information from the object of your obsession's social media accounts to accidently on purpose run into them when they're grabbing a beer after work or working out at the gym.
When you get vindictive, it brings out the darkest aspects of your personality. You have a talent for blowing an intended or unintended slight way out of proportion into a full-fledged grudge. You will hang on to this perceived slight, getting angrier and angrier. You'll finally confront the person and make them make amends, even if they have no idea about what they did to you.
Your dark side is expressed by the pessimistic and fatalistic parts of your personality. You don't think you're being negative when you expect things to turn out badly, you're just being practical and realistic. It's not that you're always hopeless, it's just that sometimes it's easy for you to go to the worst possible outcome.
When someone is losing control of their emotions, one of your easiest defenses is to pull back and distance yourself. It's unnerving to witness how cold you can be when someone is in emotional pain. It's not that you don't care, you just don't know what to do and it freaks you out.
You love the combination of romance and death. To you, the perfect love story is when someone dies such as Romeo and Juliet and The Fault in Our Stars. It's not that you want your love to die, but if they wanted to risk death to prove their love for you, you wouldn't be against it. Death is the indicator of true love for you.
