How many days until 2020?
No matter what side you’re on — red, blue, or orange — we all agree that Bernie Sanders was the most lovable figure of the 2016 presidential election.
His gruff voice and oddly chaotic hand movements made for tremendously entertaining late-night TV.
Who could ever forget Larry David as Bernie on Saturday Night Live?
In May 2015, when Bernie Sanders' announced that he would enter the race to become the Democratic Party's 2016 candidate for President of the United States of America, he said:
"I don't believe that the men and women who defended American democracy fought to create a situation where billionaires own the political process.”
And the irony, it hurts. So. Freaking. Much.
But as we are all aware, Bernie Sanders lost that nomination to Hillary Clinton, who then went on to lose to now President Donald J. Trump.
So, what is Bernie up to today?
Other than likely hanging out with his wife, Jane, in his spare time, it seems he hopes to combat the policies and executive orders rolling out on from the Trump Administration at an alarming rate.
When Senator Sanders spoke to CNN recently, he shared the following thoughts:
"I think the Republicans have not seen anything yet … If they're worried about the protests they're seeing, they're going to see more. This coming Saturday we believe there will be well over 100 protests, most of them in Republican offices around the country, district offices, demanding that Republican members of Congress meet with their constituents and answer the questions that their constituents have."
GO, BERNIE, GO!
For someone who has been in politics since the '70s, he’s got some MAJOR fight left in him still. And honestly, we couldn’t be happier.
