Well, then.

Designer Tom Ford thinks every man should be penetrated at least once...

Whoa, he said WHAT?

It’s true! Designer and movie director, Tom Ford, was quoted saying that “every man should be f*cked at some point in his life.” Sure, the statement seems a little harsh, but looking deeper into his meaning behind the statement, it’s really rather lovely. Kind of pro-feminism, even.

Known to be outspoken and honest, Ford, now 55, got real personal about some rather touchy subjects during a December interview with GQ. He does us all a favor and explains why he made the statement regarding gay sex back in a 2004 interview with GQ.

“I think it would help them understand women,” he told GQ’s Taffy Brodesser-Akner. “It’s such a vulnerable position to be in, and it’s such a passive position to be in. And there’s such an invasion, in a way, that even if it’s consensual, it’s just very personal.”

Wow, Tom Ford, you little feminist, you.

Now that all of you ladies are glowing with approval, you might be happy to know that Ford hits home yet again with his next statement:

“I think there’s a psyche that happens because of it that makes you understand and appreciate what women go through their whole life, because it’s not just sexual, it’s a complete setup of the way the world works, that one sex has the ability to literally — and is expected to and is wanted to — but also there’s an invasion. And I think that that’s something most men do not understand at all.”

He makes some pretty good points here and just when it appears that he’s on the side of the women, he adds on just a little more wisdom that may make men feel OK with this whole idea, too.

“You shouldn’t force yourself to do it. But it’s really not that different than having a massage,” he said. “It doesn’t feel that much different. It’s skin. You should do it with someone you like. Do it with a friend who you think is great. It’s very easy. It’s normal.”

Welcoming his son into the world with husband Richard Buckley in 2012, Ford still remains just as outspoken as ever. But looking back on that infamous interview in 2004, Ford admits that he was drunk and just joking around with the interviewer.

He may have a few regrets about what he said but all of us out here are sure glad that he said it!
