Jeffrey Sandusky is the son of convicted child sexual abuser Jerry Sandusky.

Filed under “Reports I Wish I Never Had To Write,” but it’s been revealed that Jeffrey Sandusky, 41, has been arrested on charges sexually assaulting a child

The name Sandusky may sound familiar to you because his father, Jerry Sandusky, is currently serving a prison sentence for the sexual abuse of 10 boys, which he met through his nonprofit charity "The Second Mile." After an arduous two-year grand jury investigation in 2011, the elder Sandusky was charged with 52 counts of sexual abuse of young boys from 1994-2009. Though some charges were dropped and appeals issued, Jerry Sandusky is serving a 30-60 year sentence in a “supermax” facility in Pennsylvania.

Unfortunately, it seems the apple didn’t fall too far from the tree. Here are 5 things you need to know about the Jeffrey Sandusky sex scandal:

1. Jeffrey Sandusky has been investigated since November of 2016.

The father of a teenage girl claimed his daughter was receiving inappropriate texts from Sandusky. Police say that Sandusky sent messages to “Victim #1” requesting that she keep the lurid texts private, later requesting to delete the messages so that none of his “sh*t” gets seen by anyone. Sandusky requested a meeting with the young girl to talk things over.

Victim #1 replied: “No, we don’t need to talk and we aren’t going to. You did what you did and I’m not going to give you a chance to try and justify it. You literally tried to guilt me into doing it and you even told and you even told me specifically what I needed to do. You know who does that? Rapists and abusers, not [redacted] who care about their [redacted]. I don’t know how many times I need to tell you no and to stop before you get it.”

According to court documents, the girl told police that Sandusky had made sexual comments to her and that he was “always looking at me in weird ways, staring me up and down.”

2. Sandusky dated Victim #1’s mother.

Victim #1’s mother reportedly spoke with Sandusky, who she had been dating for 6 years, about the text messages and he claimed he didn’t know what he said in them. He later admitted to knowing they were inappropriate. Sandusky had lived with the victim and her family for 5 years.

The mother was interviewed in December of 2016 and police reported that she became “emotional” while reading the texts. She said Jeffrey Sandusky said he was trying to help her by trying to get Victim #1 off the internet and he needed her to do it and to “role play.”

3. There was another victim.

Another girl, “Victim #2,” engaged in sexual intercourse with Sandusky when she was only 16, a minor, and him, 37. The offense supposedly happened in 2013.

4. Sandusky is being accused of a slew of charges.

According to The Centre Daily Times: “The charges include criminal solicitation of statutory sexual assault by a person 11 years older, criminal solicitation of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse of a person less than 16 years old, two counts of criminal solicitation of photograph or film depicted on the computer of a sex act knowingly involving a child, six counts of communicating with a minor, sexual abuse and two counts of criminal solicitation of child pornography, all felonies, and two misdemeanor counts of corruption of minors.”

5. Sandusky was arraigned on Monday.

Sandusky was arraigned Monday, February 13, and bail was set at $200,000. A preliminary hearing is set for February 22, 2017.
