Home is where your heart is...or is it?

Does where you live really reflect your personality? How important to you is having a home?
I have a friend with a strong case of the wanderlust and she feels happiest when she’s on the road exploring somewhere new; she feels at home wherever she goes. Me, on the other hand? I like my house and there are times (most of the time) when I prefer to be home.

I like where I live to reflect my personality, and I think mine does. It’s a Craftsman-style house filled with books, three cats, and while it’s not extremely clean, there’s not a lot of dirty dishes in the sink or dust on every surface. I try to keep cobwebs and insects out, and a sense of warmth and comfort in.
The odd thing is that I constantly dream about residences — homes of all sorts. These dreams used to be centered around an ex that I had lost touch with, so my dreams would vary. In some of these dreams, he lived in a shack alone, while in others he lived in a mansion.
It wasn’t until I touched base with him that the dreams of where he might live stopped. Now, the dreams feature all different people; some I know, such as relatives and friends, and others I don’t like, like celebrities and politicians.
I believe that these residence and dwelling dreams represent various aspects of my personality. Our homes help to define us.

First off, an Aries needs to live with an airport, train station, or freeway nearby and they need to be able to go somewhere at a moment's notice. An apartment or condo would be good for Aries, especially if they don't have to pay for utilities as they like to keep the heat on high when it's cold and they're not outside skiing or snowboarding.

Taurus (April 20 - May 20)

Home is very important to Taurus and can be the foundation to their whole lives, so they need something that's as stable and solid as they are, like a stone and brick building. They love to cook and entertain so a large, well-equipped kitchen and a separate dining room are a must. They like their home to have all kinds of special touches like fresh flowers and comfy couches. For Taurus, think luxury on a budget.

Gemini (May 21 - June 20)

Since Geminis have very active minds and love to converse and socialize, a major city is the best location for them. Their house is their home base where they go to recharge. A duplex would be a good space for them since it's kind of the combination of a house and an apartment and can express the duality of their personality. If they lived in a diverse and multicultural neighborhood, they'd never get bored.

Cancer (June 21 - July 22)

Home is very important to a Cancer, too, as they need to be able to shut out the world if need be. Any kind of house or apartment would work as long as it feels safe. The best location for a Cancer would be in a gated community or a quiet cul-de-sac, especially if it was located in the historic part of town. Having a view of a river or lake would help to soothe them when they feel emotional or stressed.

Leo (July 23 - August 22)

In the ideal Leo world, they'd have at least two homes: a fabulous house in an affluent neighborhood, and then a vacation home. Leos like to show off so their home should be not only luxurious but have incredible curb appeal. The grander the house, the better, with a full staff to maintain it. They'll do a lot of entertaining so they'll need large dining tables in both their houses.
Virgo (August 23 - September 22)

Virgos want a space that is small enough that they can keep neat and tidy. Since they tend to be very organized, that means cabinets and storage are needed for their collections. They feel most comfortable when there's a certain amount of anonymity as they like to be in control of when they engage with other people.
They also like their environments to be on the cooler side, so places like Alaska and Iceland definitely have their appeal. As far as dwellings go, if they have a certain amount of control, Virgo can be content in any kind of shelter.

Libra (September 23 - October 22)

Libras like airy and open spaces and they often have an artistic bend, so a loft in an art's district would be perfect. They are known to be happiest in towns and cities as they need a full range of intellectual pursuits. Think college town.
Their living space should be colorful, peaceful, and beautiful. They do a fair amount of entertaining, so their home to should able to accommodate that as well as being a safe retreat.

Scorpio (October 23 - November 21)

The keyword for Scorpio is privacy so if they live in an apartment, it's going to need thick walls and a private entrance. If they choose a house, it won't be right up against another one and it will have a lot of security to keep the world out and Scorpio's secrets in.
If you visit a Scorpio, you'll be instructed to stay in the public area of their homes and that their bedroom is off limits, so a split-level house or townhouse might be a good option. If you're allowed to go to the bedroom, it will be luxurious with expensive bedding and art on the walls. Scorpios would be ecstatic if they had a library or office in their home.

Sagittarius (November 22 - December 21)

A Sagittarius home would have artifacts and souvenirs from some of their travels. It's because of their wanderlust that they might find it challenging on settling in one place and may move around a lot.
But if they've lived somewhere for years or only a short time, they find a way to make their current residence welcoming as they usually have music on, incense burning, and snacks at the ready. A Sagittarius home tends not to be the neatest, but it's not gross, just messy with life.

Capricorn (December 22 - January 19)

Having a home is a very important thing to a Capricorn as not only is it a sound investment, it's a way that they can show how their diligence and hard work has paid off. Capricorns want a sturdy and solid house that's high up on a hill or in a spot with an excellent view.
While their home will be tasteful and elegant with a formal dining room, they'll also have a game room or family room that will be filled with an entertainment system and comfy couches for watching sports. They may not spend as much time as they'd like in their home, but when they do, they want it to have everything they want, so high definition TVs and a wine cellar should definitely be included.

Aquarius (January 20 - February 18)

While Aquarians love people, they don't mind living alone either. The best home for an Aquarian would be green with solar panels and/or roof gardens. It will be well-appointed with the latest high-tech gadgets so an upscale apartment would suit them or an ultra-modern tiny house, such as those ones made from old shipping containers — anything that's unique and/or innovative.
They'd love to be able to come up with ways to use their space in the most creative yet practical ways possible.

Pisces (February 19 - March 20)

A houseboat would be perfect for a Pisces as they prefer to live close to a body of water, but if that's not doable, a bungalow in a historic district somewhere would suit them just fine. It's best for Pisces if they have a comfortable place where they're able to think, dream, and create, so a comfy armchair or overstuffed couch would be good.
Ideally, they'd have an artist's studio in their backyard so that they could pursue their art projects without interruption. The Pisces home would have a lot of art, lots of photographs and paintings on the wall, and an awesome sound system.
