15 Quotes That Prove Leonard Cohen Was So Much MORE Than A Musician

Buzz, Heartbreak

He will be greatly missed.

Canadian born singer/songwriter Leonard Cohen inspired SO many with his incredible music, songwriting and poetry. Through his work that spanned over 50 years, he grew in popularity, writing super-relatable lyrics and poems that attracted fans of many generations.

It's hard to not find something that you can relate to your own life in his writing, being that many of his songs talk about exploring religion, politics, personal relationships, and dealing with isolation, loss and lonliness. He really pulled from all corners of the world to write his songs.

Not only was he inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but he was even a Companion of the Order of Canada, which is the nation's HIGHEST civilian honor. Clearly, he had a great deal of influence that many idolized and adored.

Sadly, he passed away this week. We may have lost one of the greats, but it's no secret that his legacy will live on forever in the music and lyrics that he has created. He is timeless and classic, and will be greatly missed.

Below are some of our favorites from his expansive collection, so turn on his playlist and remember one of the great men of our time.
