Take a trip down memory lane ...

I was born in the early 1980s. From what I was told, from the moment I was first placed in my crib, a tiny radio sat next to me and played the latest hits.

I can't say it's that reason alone that I think my singing voice can measure up to Whitney Houston or Madonna. I get no complaints (in my shower).

But much like a smell, or a picture, a song can bring back so many memories. Sometimes, all I have to hear is the first note and it takes me RIGHT back to the exact spot I was sitting in when I first heard it. The human brain is AMAZING, isn't it?

When I'm feeling emotional and need a good cry, I put on a playlist made up of all the songs I grew up with.

I love the 1980s and I love the time it represents: My father taking me out every Saturday to bond with me since he worked so much, waiting for my siblings to get out from work in the back seat of my dad's Thunderbird, helping my mother fold laundry while music blasted in the background, playing video games with mute on so I could listen to the radio.

So, come with me and ride down memory lane as we take on the best '80s love songs:

1. Foreigner — "Waiting For A Girl Like You"

Lyric that gets us right "there":

"You're so good, when we make love it's understood
It's more than a touch or a word can say
Only in dreams could it be this way"

2. Air Supply — "All Out Of Love"

Lyric that gets us right "there":

"I wish I could carry your smile and my heart
For times when my life seems so low
It would make me believe what tomorrow could bring
When today doesn't really know, doesn't really know"

3. REO Speedwagon — "Can't Fight This Feeling"

Lyric that gets us right "there":

"My life has been such a whirlwind since I saw you
I've been running around in circles in my mind
And it always seems that I'm following you, girl
'Cause you take me to the places
That alone I'd never find"

4. Michael Bolton — "How Am I Supposed To Live Without You"

Lyric that gets us right "there":

"And how can I blame you
When I build my world around
The hope that one day we'd be so much
more than friends
And I don't wanna know the price I'm
gonna pay for dreaming
When even now it's more than I can take"

5. Joe Cocker — "Up Where We Belong"

Lyric that gets us right "there":

"There are mountains in our way
But we climb a step every day"

6. Taylor Dane — "Love Will Lead You Back"

Lyric that gets us right "there":

Well I'll hear your voice again
You're gonna say, oh how much you missed me
You'll walk out this door
But someday you'll walk back in
Darling I know, I know this will be"

7. Starship — "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now"

Lyric that get us right "there":

Put your hand in my hand baby
Don't ever look back
Let the world around us just fall apart
Baby we can make it if we're heart to heart"

8. U2 — "With Or Without You"
