Because we all need a little self-esteem boost every now and then.
Everyone has those days where they look in the mirror and feel like they aren't beautiful.
I mean EVERYONE. The thin, the curvy, the overweight, the tall, the short, the blonde, brunette, red-head, the freckled, the ones with straight teeth, the ones with spaced teeth, the ones with blue eyes, black eyes, green eyes and all the colors in between.
We all have days where we have some body image issues and feel like we just aren't beautiful because of how we look.
But that's because there's something we tend to forget.
Beauty CANNOT be defined. Not by a color, shape, height, weight.
And deep down, I think most of us know that. But sometimes we have a hard time believing it. We fall prey to what the media deems to be beautiful and let it affect our self-esteem and how we feel about ourselves.
Don’t let it.
I know, easier said than done. I’m guilty of it myself so I know just how hard it is to suddenly think of yourself as beautiful.
No one ever said it would be easy and it’s not a simple fix. It requires constant reminders and a change in the way we think.
But we have to do it. Together. Together we need to stop comparing how we look and focus on ourselves and how we feel about our looks.
Because you are beautiful.
You with the space in your teeth or the less-than-white teeth. You with the freckles and the mole and the birthmarks. You with your thin hair, thick hair or no hair in any of the thousands of color combinations that your hair can be. You with your hips, boobs and butt. You there who is reading this and is hopefully starting to think, even for a moment, “Yes, I am pretty”.
Yes, you are pretty your gorgeous stranger. I don’t have to know you to know that you’re beautiful. You are because you exist. I don't know you so I have no reason to lie to you which means I must be telling the truth.
